Here you are, didnt want you getting your panties in a knot
It is unlawful for any operator of any vehicle, as the same is defined in the Texas Vehicle Code, to operate such vehicle on any municipal parking lot within the city limits in excess of ten (10) miles per hour.
So, it was 10 instead of 5

and here let me explain the law to you, since apparently you need stuff drawn out for you
as for HCC, it is a private lot and so they can set theyre speed limit how they want, however it cannot exceed 20mph, and I also remember reading somewhere if nothing is posted you take it as a default speed limit of 5 or 10 mph,
now let me go dig that up for you too, since you wont be able to find it on your own

ok..municipal parking lots have a speed limit. HCC and other universities are given authority to assemble a security force and the authortiy to make regulations about parking and moving violations on university property, as well.

but to be clear..there is no speed limit in the parking garage attached to the building i'm working in. it's private property. which was my original point.

You were acting so strongly about how the speed limit was 5 and that everyone who didn't know that, was an idiot. The only thing this proved is that, actually, you're the idiot because you were wrong all along. 5 isn't 10. Homie.

OK next time you're in your private parking garage and there happens to be a cop there, gun your car to go about 70 mph, since apparently there is no speed limit he shouldnt say anything,
    right??

i didn't say that at all. i still have a duty to drive carefully/cautiously everywhere. if i'm not..and i hit someone...i can be held liable for negligence and my speed limit would absolutely be part of that equations. but there is no direct speed limit that, if i violate, i'm absolutely guilty for doing so. if i go 15 mph in a private parking garage, i'm not getting ticketed....and cops aren't going to be patrolling private parking garages for that very reason.

this was our discussion...speed limits in parking garages. there are speed limits in parking garages owned and controlled by public authorities. for private parking garages, there are not.

    Another one....

When a cop breaks the law. I see it all the time, believe it or not.

Here in New York state, it's illegal to talk on your cell phones while driving. I see cops doing it at least once a week. I've seriously been wondering if a police station would take me serious if I complained about that. My mom actually got a 100 dollar ticket for using her cell phone while driving, but I guess cops get away with it whenever they want.

Also, a couple times, I've been driving home late, and there will be a cop at a stop light. All of a sudden he'll turn on his light, go through the intersection, then turn the back off because he doesn't want to wait for the light.

In all seriousness, these things are enough to make me want to just run the red light right in front of the cop, or pull out my cell phone and call someone while I'm sitting next to the cop who's talking on his phone.

    its not about impressing anyone

I like to have a good discussion every now and then

people like RM95 and reggietodd come in and talk **** about something they know nothing about, I mean I wasnt discussing anything with them, its just like everyone else nowadays sticking there nose where it doesnt belong

I mean I was talking only to Madmax before, when RM95 you had to butt in and throw insults at me, naturally you will get them back, and then reggietodd's dumbass acting like he knows **** and calling me out as an idiot

seriously what a bunch of dumb f****
