I think this team needed to change a lot of things from last season, and they have addressed most of them. Yes, a motion-oriented offense would be better; but do you remember last season? Every possession would be dribble for 18 seconds, then Stevie would cross his man over and if he couldn't get to the basket or get a clean shot he would pass with 4 on the shot clock or turn the ball over. Plus, the team didn't know how to win. They would get a big lead only to let it slip away in the 3rd or 4th quarter and then collapse.

I see a lot of improvement in the team this year, though it is inconsistent, and even though the record doesn't show it. I still think the team is a lot better this year than last year, and I don't think they have come close to the limits of what they can do.

That doesn't mean I think we should sit tight in the off-season; but I don't think we should blow the team up either (barring any too-good-to-be-true trade scenarios).

Yetti, your idea of team ball is Yao Ming getting 30 plus shots per game.

With a center that can't run and a pg that can't pass?

Ok, now you guys got me being pessimistic.

Every defense has to give up something, and the outside J is about the best choice. Most effective defensive teams operate from the inside out.

All the record-breaking defenses give up the outside J.

Every defense gives somethign up, as MacBeth mentioned, and JVG's defense gives up the toughest one - a 3pter.
