Help me out here. Have the T-Wolves even considered trading KG? Why would they? He is a bonafide Superstar, one of the 3 or 4 best players in the league. Would you make that trade? ------------------
That was my thoughts, too, Crash. I think a lot of times we make trade scenarios that make sense $wise, but absolutely NO sense in common sense. If you were Minnesota, even if Garnett was demanding a trade, would you make one? And if so, you could have virtually anyone in the league...Olajuwon and Walt Williams wouldn't even be an option. No disrespect intended...where the hell is DOC? ------------------ Jazzkiller
probably laughing his ass off reading all this crazy trade scenarios we are coming up with. but make no mistake: a blockbuster that is true to the rockets history is headed our way. ------------------ "I have posted so much that what I say must be true"
doc's lurking & laughing. If Dream had to move, it would consist of one of the following scenarios, right? 1) Dream is bought/out or waived. He can still sign w/ a contender. 2) Dream is traded to a contender. 3) Dream is traded to a team for salary cap & luxury tax reasons. 4) Both 3 and 4. Which scenarios do you guys really, truly think are going to happen? 1) What's the point? To be nice? 2) Portland or New York or Phoenix. Why would Portland trade for Dream? It makes no sense. New York might trade b/c they still have Allan Houston about to opt out... and they still don't like the fact that they can't keep Camby on the floor. Neither Portland or NY are in warm climates, which Dream acts like is a requirement for his willingness to depart Houston. Phoenix scares me. I hate Googs. I hate Penny. Go away, go away, go away. Phew, at least now we know it won't be Phoenix. 3) Which team wants to stop loosing 10s of millions of dollars a year? Vancouver rings a bell. They also need a top 18er to pay Detroit. Reeves has played better than usual lately, so perhaps this isn't as scary as... I can't remember what the scarey trade was, nevermind. 4) Orlando. They could compete w/ Dream this year, and they'd get out of Hill's crux of a contract. However, his ankle is probably going to be okay, so I doubt this would ever happen. ------------------ We're going to stay together until something happens, if something happens. - Sidney Lowe on Shareef's career in Vancouver. It was the only trade that would work under the assumption that I made. I would be shocked if it went down, but it would have the earth shaking effect of an earthquake. Achebe, As far as why they would do it, MAYBE (it's thin, I know) Minnesota wants to give themselves some manuevering room & acquire some #1 picks. How many #1's would you throw in for that deal? I guess the same question could be asked as to why Vancouver would want to trade Shareef. He doesn't cost as much as Garnett & has a great upside also. Vancouver could keep all their players & use the fact that they are losing money as the perfect reason for moving the franchise. Besides, the hint that I'm using as my basis, could just be a red herring. Dream casting, ya just gotta love it. ------------------

We would all be stupe-f***ing-fied if we got Garnett. Even for draft picks, would the Wolves do that? I thought maybe we could send Shareef and Big Country to Minnesota for Garnett. It works capwise (I think). Shareef would play the 4, Wally-World the 3, Big MF Country...well, need I say he wouldn't be the point guard? It would be fair. That is the only way I see getting Garnett. I'd love to have Shareef, but would Big Country even remotely be worth his salary? He's been on a tear lately. But Cato was demigod-like in last year's postseason. 7 years, $49,000,000. Just please don't send us Googs. Please, please, please.... Sam Cassell: Can you share your suspicions about the trade or do you not want to get flamed? ------------------

Hottoddie, I like that when you dream, you dream big. But remember: Do the Rockets see through their rebuilding process, or take a more aggressive and active stance (i.e. Does the team risk cap space for a potential trade win now? Does the team risk a chance at Webber during the summer for a chance at player(s)x now?)? Again: You don't say that if you're contemplating a superstar like KG. You say that if you're about to trade away one of your few tradeable commodities (Dream) for something that may not pay off in huge shares... if it does at all. Now again, what trade out there would be a risk? I can think of several. There are two that scare me the most. ------------------ We're going to stay together until something happens, if something happens. - Sidney Lowe on Shareef's career in Vancouver. I feel Hakeem will be going to a warm natured climate!! I'm thinking of the hints and I think that the Rockets will get younger. But the guy I'm thinking won't improve the Rockets that much. I do know for a fact that the (!!%$ want to trade the (@^&! ^^@^! Is it Dream for the (@^&! ^^@^????? I've spoken in Code to those who know, am I right? It's a guy whom we have wanted before I'll be that blunt!! ------------------ The guns are cocked and the soldiers are in place, it's time to march and let the battles decide the war.
I think the Doc ,here, is implying that cap space is a gorgeous thing to offer. ...and that you wil be suprised what a team would give up to have the chance to be beautiful, once again. ------------------ [This message has been edited by ROCKETBOOSTER (edited January 15, 2001).]

and I'M thinking that we may all end up going nuts before this is over. ------------------ "I have posted so much that what I say must be true"
Doc, Cap space for us, or the value someone else might pay for it for themselves? Thanks for lurking... ------------------ the more I know, the more I know I don't know...
Could it be that the Rockets are just clearing out a couple of cap-hogs for cap-space and a run at Webber? Is that possible? I dunno. Also, somebody fill me in on the following quote by Doc Rocket. What is he referring to? : Is he talking about Cato? Heck, for all I know, he could be talking about Rashard Lewis.
