Don't post up on little kids. Sadly, it makes some people attain a false sense of superiority. :(

Of course. Don't get mad if they "pull the chair" on you either.

Also what is up with the "ALL YOU BABY ALL YOU" guy? I played last weekend in a tournament last weekend and this guy just wouldn't shut up.

    "ALL YOU BABY ALL YOUU!"
"HE GOT IT HE GOT ITT"
"LET HIM SHOOT MAN LET HIM SHOOT, HE AINT GONNA MAKE IT"
    "AIRBALL!"
    "MAN UP MAN UP BABY!"
"MY BAD MAN MY BAD, AY YOU AITE? MY BAD DOUG"

So damn annoying. He said more that I do not care to type. I think everyone on the team started making fun of him by the end.

I don't mind people who talk constantly, mostly because everybody else just stares at each other in amusement while the talker keeps flapping his gums unaware everyone else is mocking him.

I hate playing with "coaches". Even on the rare occasions when they have got a clue. If you see someone doing something wrong, pull them aside and tell them. But unless it's a guy who's barely ever played, it's almost never necessary.

are you hoping for guys smaller than you to just fall over or get plowed every time you post them up? It's great to say you can "only hold your ground", but if you have 50 lbs on someone, they're not just gonna give up and say "free layup line" every trip down the court

Dont walk out of a pick-up game saying you need to get a micro-fracture surgery.

Who said anything about free layups? "only hold your ground" is how the game is played, not how I want it to be so I can easily score. The fact that I'm bigger (if I am) is to my advantage and I should be able to use it without someone breaking the rules to even the playing field. Do you think if someone is taller and a good shooter you should be able to hack their arm when they shoot? Is that your not giving up and saying "hey freethrow line" every trip down the court?

The defender has just as much of a right as you to push you out of position. Its not against the rules to push you out of the paint. Not if he's elbowing you out of the paint, that's a different situation altogether...

What are you guys' view on subbing out midway through a pickup game?

I get extremely winded often when playing (and I'm skinny) so sometimes I like to call a timeout and request a quick change. Especially in one of those full court games where both teams are stuck under 10 points for like 15 frickin minutes.

It's a pickup game. If I only hold my ground, then I would be taking a charge that doesn't get called / doesn't exist

If you can find a replacement, that's fine. If you destroy the game its frowned upon lol.

No I agree, we can muscle for position but I'm talking about you're down there set and they have both hands on/in your back pushing, that's not allowed even in street ball.

Looks like you're in a dilemma. I agree that's not allowed... but you're going to look like a huge pansy if you call foul on that. So when you back down just do this:

    <iframe width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/jTXspXqswfA?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    Start at :36
No, don't start a fight but back down as violently as you can.

I'll put a quick forearm into somebody trying to post me a few times.

I'll physically move someone out to about 18 feet if they think it's all day.
