True, but it has been proven over and over again how one poster or a group can change the direction of a thread. So the OP title was a bit overboard but the idea is still good to consider, Harden does have his faults, and we as fans have the right to voice our opinions.

Obviously if the gang-bangers would ignore threads they feel to f***, life around here would be much more bearable.

Let me know when you have watched more basketball....... ISO has been a huge part of successful basketball for 40 years.... especially in the playoffs.

    Nope.

For one, there is no one on this team that is remotely as talented as Harden. Other than LeBron, Durant, Paul (perhaps a few others) you will not find a player as good as Harden.

Second, when you increase a players offensive responsibility, you tend to see that players defense suffer.

Last, role players do not suddenly develop into superstars often.... if you want to stake your future on that theory you will fail.

NO. You are in dreamland and you DID NOT school me. Fact is, not every player in the NBA can be a superstar level talent regardless of the touches they may get. They are just not that good and never will be. Some players are just really good role players that have good games from time to time. (Parsons, Ibaka, Battier, Deng, Ariza, Brooks, Scola, and the list goes on and on with these type players)

People that have never played a lot of (quality) ball in their lifes always think everybody on the team should get equal touches and shots and that will make for a better team. I've noticed they also tend to think the rotation should be 10-12 players deep every game. Doing these two things will get you beat in the NBA. that's not a winning formula.

Superstar talent is hard to find in the NBA. When you find it, you ride it as far as it will take you. You take the good with the bad. Harden is turning into a vey good player (already a good playmaker for others). He will get better in his overall game. His defense will come around, BUT he was not brought here to be a good defender. He was brought here to be our leading scorer. We will put defense around him. Durant, James, Pierce are not stoppers, they have good defenders around them. They can get a stop at times in big games. For the most part, they SCORE! Kobe and Jordan are very rare players so one should not expect that to be the norm.

This thread is very childish and stupid IMO. Sounds like most on here want Michael Jordan to all of a sudden be on our team. Heck, even then, some of you would still say he shoots too much haha What a joke this is.

Except that nearly every team has ISO for players so I guess you are in the minority here.

Trust me you'll see it a bunch in the playoffs. If we play against OKC you'll see lots of it because we'll have no one to handle Durant one on one and the Thunder will be smart to get Durant the ball and let him work.

No one is saying to just ISO over and over again...but to say it's not good basketball or has no place in the game is a bit much.

Nothing wrong with ISO, its how they utilized him in the past is painful to watch when it becomes too predictable and is our only offense. Opponents just crash on Harden, because the rest of the team hasn't done anything offensively. ISO is one of Houston's best weapons in Harden, the problem this season is that everyone has seen games where Harden doesn't get his foul calls and shoots 4/18 for the entire game. I am a huge fan of ISO Harden, just not ISO like 90% of the time in the final 10 minutes of the 4th. Ball movement and team assists are what really destroys our opponents, then when Harden ISOs at the RIGHT MOMENTS (Insert COACHING SKILL HERE), is what makes Harden ISOs so dangerous, because the other team's D cant slack off the rest of our players who have been playing team ball.

^ also to add to my post, I have nothing I dislike about Harden. I'm sure many would agree with me the coaching staff doesn't utilize him properly either. Especially in closing out close games in the 4th. This is not a subtle hate mchale post, or coaching staff, this isn't a give the ball to Lin more post, this is a we need to use Harden's ISO in the right moments post. There are times where our team is playing awful and Harden is THE ONLY REASON, we even pull out the win or stay close. And sometimes, it results in him having to go pretty much all out ISO in the 4th. Chalk it up to new team, new players learning to grow. Even now recently, you see a lot more team ball these past few games.

    That's right.

Because if you do it too much and no one else gets going then the other team will just collapse and Harden will be playing one on 5. At the right moments it can be deadly because it's hard for one guy to guard Harden...although there are guys who can, Harden is not at Lebron or Durant level where NO one in the league can guard him..

The best time to ISO IMO is when you need to score and no one on the team can get it done. This is why we see ISOs in the clutch moments because coaches NEED to score and they trust their guy to beat their man and score...and when you run a play you add in so many variables and things to go wrong.

ISO you take away those variables. It's just Durant on Parsons for example and I think most coaches would take that if they needed 2 points.

Teams rely on their superstars to go ISO when needed. If he needs to work on his ISO this year, now is the time to do it while we aren't going anywhere past the first round. So if you are sick of seeing it, I'm not sure what to tell you. This is the time to get the practice. This is his first season starting, what are you expecting? You want him to be Lebron, Kobe, Jordan? Those aren't superstars... those are freaks of nature. Yes we know he is an awesome player because a lot of us have followed him before he came to the Rockets and were understandably excited when he came because we know his potential and upside. I'm so sick of the hate, if you don't like Harden I suggest maybe you find another team because he is THE future of the franchise. The future looks bright

I was with you until you said Lebron James is not a "stopper" implying he's not the best wing defender in the NBA. Go back and watch the bulls/heat playoffs series a few years ago and report back what he did to the MVP. Then you made yourself look silly by stating that Kobe is the rare two way player. ROLMAO. You would have been fine if you stated MJ & Lebron are the rare two way players.
You should ask for a full refund on your rep

no no no clutch moemnts and moments when you need to score was the worst time to make harden iso this season...his iso was most effective in first 3 quarters not in clutch time sorry too predictable 1-dimensional and ineffective...
