For those interested, Club No Minors is in the El Patio on Westheimer. Definitely for professionals only.

Back in the years B.C. (before children), it was strictly Crown and 7-up. I could drink and drink and drink Crown till I was amazingly drunk, yet still go back for more.

But the years and three kids have slowed me down (as well as strained the budget....have you seen the price of Crown lately?). Now I buy a big bottle of cheap-ass Black Velvet and diet Coke and sip it on the patio.

Just wait fellas...y'all will be my age someday!:D

I invented this drink and haven't named it yet...

1/2 bottle of Mikes Hard Lemonade (or any other hard lemonade)
    1 shot of tequila
    Ice Cubes

Thats it! Turns out those lemonade things are tasty but only contain 5% alcohol. To spice it up, I added a shot of Tequila one day and VOILA! It makes those lemonade thingies go a long way and gives a nice feeling.:)

Bourbon & coke. In fact, I'm drinking one right now.:p

Spent a week at an all inclusive in Cozumel last year. Hard to beat sitting at the sunken bar drinking a margs or a Pina Colada.

    Margaritas are my first love.

I'll also drink Patron and nothing. I had a shot of that stuff the other day, and I just let it sit in my mouth without swallowing it(for a few seconds). It was so good. It didn't burn at all and it had a sweet taste. MMMMmmmmmmm............

    Vodka and OJ.

Zombies kick arse, and will make you an insane boob.

I've Been to "Club No Minor" and their Ritas taste like crap, but they are as strong as they come. I recommend "Cabos" (if it's still around) for super-strong Ritas that taste good. They have (or had) a two-drink maximum on their margaritas because they're made with everclear. I had 4 one time (not knowing what was in them), and blacked out for over 4 hours (I had a couple other drinks too). I was conscious, I just don't remember what I was doing. It was in my top 5 most drunk times.

I also went to this place in Austin called "Baby Acapulcos" I think my friends and I only had two margaritas each, but we all stumbled out of that place, barely coherent.

Wine Ritas piss me off too.

DREAMer, there's a little hole-in-the-wall mexican food place over in Seabrook called Laredo's that makes their ritas with everclear. Oh they are sooooo good, but don't think you can have more than two.

I like to have one and chill for awhile. Mmmmmm

    Newbiehad,

No thanks. Everclear is off my list of allowable alcoholic mixers.

When you are awakened by a Houston Police officer while you sleep on the curb outside your friends apartment, that's when you decide not to drink everclear any more.

    LOL@ Dreamer

A friend of mine woke up like that once.....only he was at the wheel of his car, at a stop light, with his foot on the brake. He had no idea how long he had been there. Scary!

Ha! DREAMer is a curb hugger!!!!

For me, with age, came a paycheck. With a paycheck, you tend to exchange quantity for quality. I've seen some of my youthful favorites in the previous threads, and then there are those that we created. (used to be a bartender)

    To start:
I've seen those big A straws from McD's, and those would be great for Mind Erasers. This other tender and I had a bet on night to see who could finish off a mind eraser the fastest. Mind you (pardon the pun) these would be no normal ME's. We had been selling beers and Margarita's in those 32oz glass mugs. We had the brilliant idea to do 32oz ME's. Before we started, we realized that it would take forever to use the straws from the bar. So, we grabed 8 straws each, put a rubber band around them, and then went after it. The first big chugs were a little rough...nothing like sucking down 10oz of cold Kallua, before you get to the 12oz of Vodka, by then, my thoat was just about frozen, then cam the Sprite (I hate soda). Talk about a big ol' burp, not to mention the hangover from that! But hey, turned some heads, and the story's always pretty fun to tell.

Kami Kazi's....didn't really like the tart so much, but hey, when it's power hour, and shots are fifty cents you learn to deal with it. Well, I got tired of 'em quick, so I changed 'em up a little bit. Instead of the Vodka, sweet and sour, and Roses Lime, I used Vodka, Sweet and sour, and Grenadine....oh yea, we called it the pink twat. Got a few...ahem...dates with female bartenders at other clubs with that drink? Go figure?

Another one that we made up, was for all those that were late hooking up with your friends at the bar. It was a 3 shot....shot. We took a shot of each: Turkey 101, Bacardi 151, and Stoli 100, put it over ice in a shaker, added a couple drops of grenadine (for color)....shook it and strained it into a rocks glass. We called it "Satan's Crotch". So, when you show up about an hour later than your friends, it only takes one of these to catch up! If you can't tell, you'll only have been there a couple of minutes, but you'll feel like you've been there the hole time, and your tab will look the same after that "Premium" shot.

Those weren't always popular with the ladies, so we made a drink called "Fruiti Fruiti". In a shaker over ice, add 1 shot of Vodka, 1 shot of Rum, 1 shot of Cream de Coco, splash of Pineapple juice and cranberry juice. Shake it, and strain it over ice in 10 glass. Very fruiti, obviously the Cream de Coco hides the two full shots the lady's are enjoying.

Now for what I enjoy now...well, I have to agree that Trudy's Mexican Martini's are good, but I'm more of a straight liquor guy now. I prefer sippin' on some Woodford Reserve http://www.woodfordreserve.com/ , Knob Creek, Bookers, Bakers, Basyl Haydens http://www.smallbatch.com/ . Those are my Bourbons. As for Tequila, I can go no further than Chinaco Anejo here's a link http://www.winepatrol.com/tequila/tasting/nom1127.htm it's a high dollar premium tequila (about $70 in the hand blown, hand signed and hand numbered with a ball point pen) but you will sip on this like nothing else...er, please don't waste it in a mixed drink.

But most of all, the timing of this is great. For fun, a buddy of mine (the one who introduced me to the Chinaco) and I are taking our wives to the Tim McGraw concert in San Antonio this Saturday (front row Orcestra). The kicker is that we're getting a limo to take us from Round Rock (North of Austin) to San Antonio for the concert. On the way we will all be having our experience with Louis XII. It better be come good stuff, the bottle alone when it's empty is worth over $200 (I think it's Waterford Crystal or something like that). We paid $1100 for it (full) when we were in Monte Carlo, and we've been waiting for the right time to crack it open. If you have seen Cocktail, that's the stuff in the funny curved looking bottle with the hole in the middle, that they drank on the boat before the dude offed himself. Anyway, we have the limo's until they bring us home the next morning. We figured that we would try a bottle of Dom in the hotel when we get there, to kind of keep the night rolling along. The rest of the plans...well, let's just say mind your own business.

Anyway, you asked, and you can obvoiusly tell what happens when you make a little more money that you used to...your tastes change....what am I drinking right now....well, nothing really beats a cold Bud Light when your working on your '64 Chevy. Proof that money doesn't have to change the man, but it sure helps him experience a few extra things!

Sorry for the long post, but you asked! :)

Long Island Iced Teas. However they just aren't right for every occasion, especially when one is already wasted or on the verge of being such. I do like the simple things: whiskey or rum mixed with coke, gin and tonic, martini, screwdriver, Cape Cod (cranberry and vodka), etc.

One of the most unique I have tried is called a Mexican *******: find whatever cheap gin you might have and mix it with whatever liquors you have leftover at the party, mix them together, pour into a shot glass, and add about 5-10 dashes of Tobasco hot sauce.

Not much of a beer guy. I prefer to get blasted on whiskey sours or some fruity drink where, on drink one, you question where the alcohol is...and at drink five, you question where your sobriety is.

Used to drop MD20/20 back in the day. I remember be fond of the grapefruit variety.

Nice resurrection. When this thread was started...I had no kids.

I make a mean MUD SLIDE. SMOOTH, yet muddy... with good flavor.

Also, I can mix a good Margarita with strawberry, mango, even bananas... to add some flavor to it.

Lastly, I can make an awesome PiƱa Colada.

    I don't have a favorite.
