    Which minority are we talking about here? Asians don't have civil rights? Since when?

    What? Is that true? Or just making it up for dramatic effect?

    That's not really the case on the east coast. I've never lived west of the Mississippi or south of the Dixie line though.

    The report highlights statistics from the U.S. Department of Heath and Human Services (HHS) Office of Minority Health (OMH) and National Asian Women's Health Organization (NAWHO) posing concern.

    Asian American girls have the highest rates of depressive symptoms of any racial/ethnic or gender group;
    Young Asian American women ages 15 to 24 die from suicide at a higher rate than other racial/ethnic groups;
    Suicide is the fifth leading cause of death among Asian Americans overall, compared to the ninth leading cause of death for white Americans;
    Older Asian American women have the highest suicide rate of all women over 65; and
    Among Southeast Asians, 71 percent meet criteria for major affective disorders such as depression—with 81 percent among Cambodians and 85 percent among Hmong.

    FYI... AAPI - Asian American Pacific Islander

    A 2009 study by the University of Washington found that nearly 16 percent of U.S.-born AAPI women have contemplated suicide in their lifetimes. That’s compared with 13 percent of all Americans.

    What's the movie goin to be about? Jeremy is from the bay and I'm from the bay. Jeremy is from polo alto . Polo Alto is one of the riches cities in the bay area everybody who lives in Palo Alto is a baller except the east side. I don't understand insanity how he was a couch bum that made it through to the NBA . Unless he's straight up from the EPA east side Palo alto. Which is the straight ghetto yes it is as bad as oak town and Richmond out there, but I doubt it cause jeremy went to Harvard and Harvard is not a cheap school to go to.

    Question?.....

    The kickstarter site is to raise funds to add additional music and NBA footage to the documentary. If they do meet their goal, will the dvd be the theatrical cut or the Sundance version? I referring to the dvd for the backers.

    According to the kickstarter page, if the goal is not met people will be refunded their money.

    I understand what you said because I did back the film. I'm asking if the documentary does meet the goal, will the dvd be the Sundance version or the theatrical version?

    Oh forgot Eat Drink Man Woman was dubbed in English and released here.

    What's wrong with silly tongue n cheek movies like Big Trouble in Little China? I didn't say it was a great film. It has a cult following and a 7.2 star rating on IMDB and 4+ almost 5 star rating on Amazon.

    Sorry don't get the breakfast in Tiffany's reference.

    I think his father received his doctorate in computer programming or computer science. His mother is also in the same profession.

    Woah - that ish is sad... I went to a mostly white HS (1-3 asian kids per grade, 10% black if that) and never saw anything like that. Attended top tier undergrad/grad school and didn't encounter anything like that either. Never heard stories like of bullying from my asian friends either.

    Sports can bring out the worst in people (though it usually brings out the best).

    I see things from many people's perspectives as well. Maybe if you weren't white and didn't have the privilege googles on you could decipher much better. I see it both ways, I live in the MD, VA, DC area. Around here I sometimes see groups of minorities give white people problems regardless if anything was said or done to them or not by the particular white people. I always try to remain neutral but you certainly do have more biases filtering your observations.

    Psst. I'm asian btw if I forgot to mention that. ;)

    People have different experiences. I guess I somehow sidestepped all that.

    If it does get picked up for distribution, does anyone know when it will likely be available to the public? Perhaps someone familiar with the industry and the timeline for such a thing would know the answer.
