Nah, I'll treat you like a dude. I don't believe in Internet chivalry  I think the privileges are tied to the number of rep points you have.
You sure it was because you were a white foreigner, or because of your personality? I don't see how you having an Asian wife has any bearing on your argument. What was your point in bringing her up, did you have an Asian fetish? Not a certain "kind", but a certain "race". if I decide that I don't want to watch a movie because it has a black lead actor, that doesn't make me racist? And if I don't like the NBA because there are too many black players, I guess that doesn't make me a racist either? And to say that "everyone is racist" and "everyone has stereotypes" is just lazy thinking. White men don't have negative stereotypes - they get dismissed as soon as you watch the next movie starring Tom Cruise.

Hey, just in time for this discussion: http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat...m_by_evan_jackson_leong_follows_nba_star.html But what does the author know? He's just an Asian! What would he know about discrimination against Asian people? We should talk to some white guys to get the real truth about anti-Asian discrimination. Preferably, let's find ones with Filipina wives or whatever because that must mean that they have real insight into race relations. Here's also an amusing article: http://www.complex.com/pop-culture/2012/05/the-50-most-racist-movies/ What's most interesting is the absolute vitriol in the comments section that's more offended NOT at the blatant racism in the movies, but the actual article itself that DARES to suggest that perhaps those movies were racist. My guess is that it's not a bunch of Black and Asian people there, vehemently denying that films have portrayed them unfairly and crying that it's injustice to libel them as such. Chances are that the comments section is filled with the demographic that most benefits from the tilted status quo, and they know that the media is a zero sum game. Gains for minorities and women will necessarily have to come at some losses for the current dominant demographic, and they don't like that one bit. They enjoy having the spotlight all to themselves, whether they realize it or not.
I can't either. I think you have to contribute money to the site in order to get to edit your post and other functions I assume. You can do the cheap way of Google-ing someones name and the Clutchfans to see some results. Try googling Gamer4life, Realgm, and the word racism/racist together. You will know that this guy has over 7 thousand posts crying about racism. He's trying to derail this Linsanity movie thread with his agenda.
And when Tom Cruise is in a movie about basketball, the end would be near. Chill out dude. Just want to know if this movie is any good. It won't heal the world, that was Michael jackson's job. For you and for me and the entire human race.
Evan Leong who made the documentary talks about how Jeremy Lin deals with racism. <div style="background-color:#000000;width:520px;"><div style="padding:4px;"><iframe src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/embed/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:875193/cp~vid%3D875193%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A875193" width="512" height="288" frameborder="0"></iframe><p style="text-align:left;background-color:#FFFFFF;padding:4px;margin-top:4px;margin-bottom:0px;font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12px;">Get More: <a href="http://www.mtv.com/movies/trailer_park/" style="color:#439CD8;" target="_blank">Movie Trailers</a>, <a href="http://moviesblog.mtv.com/" style="color:#439CD8;" target="_blank">Movies Blog</a></p></div></div>
Here is the link to the article about the interview: http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1700852/linsanity-jeremy-lin-documentary.jhtml I think the article, "Jeremy Lin Schools His NBA Haters In 'Linsanity' Doc" is the most interesting one I've read about the movie so far.
I went to college with Evan. The guy is good at what he does and I'm glad he hit the jackpot with this one
Actually, there are a lot of Asians that are Uncle Toms. Not only do they dismiss racism, they actively try to work against other Asians, to show everybody how "cool" they are. If people want to support the movie, they should really support the creators of the documentary. These guys will be the first to acknowledge the discrimination in Hollywood and the need to support Asian actors and Asian filmmakers.
Some people on the forum can learn a lot from Lin and how he deals with racism instead of having 7k in posts on feeling oppressed.
Thanks! Would you be interested to start a thread on Calvin Murphy's commentaries? I can't contribute though because I don't have the channel.
I wish I could watch Calvin Murphy's postgame analysis, but I watch the Rockets games on League Pass, too.
