This is the Linsanitythemovie thread so I don't see anything wrong with him/her wanting to post comments by people who saw the film @ Sundance. It's one thing for indy film critics or film industry insiders to like the film, but it's also nice to know that regular Joe's from Utah or even Hollywood writers/actors felt inspired by the film. With the doom and gloom on the board and in the world in general it's nice to hear some good new once in a while.
Any of you guys really follow Kickstarter projects? What are the chances this thing gets funded or not at this point?
Depends on the project. If you check out the kickstarter site, some of the projects that have been funded are really interesting. Scroll through their successfully funded projects and you'll be surprised how fascinating some of them are.
wondering if there are some negative reviews about the movie? that may make some posters here feel a little at ease? anyhow, can't wait when the movie comes out.
re negative reviews - I have not encountered any. I have a feeling they will be posted here as soon as they come out.
This is the closest that I've found that mentions some of the flaws in the editing and music choices. http://www.hitfix.com/the-fien-prin...ity-spreads-to-park-city-with-some-candidness
excerpt from the review Skyhoop mentioned: (Awwwwww) It's a relief to report that while Leong's "Linsanity" is a relatively familiar hagiography, the director had begun his focus on Lin before the madness and he was working with Lin's candid cooperation. That means that while none of the facts or linear details in "Linsanity" count as a revelation, Lin's personality is able to shine through. There are some very strange choices and problematic missteps in the storytelling here, but it turns out that I like Jeremy Lin and in a brisk documentary that goes a long way.
Just for all of our friends. Wouldn't want to miss their expectations The negativity in a documentary film review will always be about the director/producer and their choices. Not about the subject matter, but maybe how it was presented to the audience. Of course, some people expect a negative review of "Linsanity: The Movie" because they have conditioned themselves to be hyper-sensitive of criticism directed at Lin.
Well, there was that musical tribute put together to the song "Smile" and I think it was done by a male (can't really be 100% sure on the internet) Knicks fan as a farewell tribute to Lin leaving for the Rockets.
Okay I'll change it to most guys don't care about Lin's smile or his strange relationship with Parsons
