I don't think the amount of money is the point. The point is to show solidarity by showing support, by taking action. Proudly announcing that I just made $250 donation to Linsanity the Movie on Kickstarter. That amount gets my name on the film credit. I did that on purpose not because I want to see my name but because I want the world to know that I stand together with my brothers and my sisters. Together there is strength. Together the world will know there is a movie market for documentaries and films featuring Asian main characters outside of Asia.
That is pretty cool and admirable. I think the only time it becomes a problem is when there is a distinction due to that when talking about the team collectively. But I do realize that a lot of the 2012 fans are supporting the Rockets because of Lin.
The movie is seeking a distributor. Once a distributor comes on board, then it's released probably in limited release to theaters. The alternative is it goes straight to dvd. You may want to ask TC777JLin168, but if you go to the Kickstater site, depending on the donation, you get the dvd along with other items.
