Yes, that was a classic Hard-Lin play!...for like 2 games Then the opposing team stuck to Harden like glue, ahh I miss it though.
I want to see more of this with the Rockets.... <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/2A144j4vxNk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Who besides Harden & Parsons are athletic enough to jump that high? Definitely not Omer Asik. Maybe Greg Smith. I don't think Patterson has the hops for that. Marcus I am not to sure? The personell isn't quite the same in Houston as it was in NY.
Actually you know who would be great for those lob passes. Like the ones in transition where the big runs the break. Terrence Jones. He definitely has the speed & the hops for that.
Unless, I'm mistaken, I don't recall one alleyoop this season from the Rockets. With the emphasis pushing the ball up the court, what's up with that.
You watch that and then question Lins ability....hes hopefully out of the slump and this is what i expect from him...GREATNESS....
Lin tried to do one against the Lakers but Marcus Morris stopped running & it resulted in a turnover. Most of the passes in transition are bounce passes in traffic for the lay up. Very few are lob/touchdown passes for the alley oop. Like I said the Rockets lack the chemistry for all of that. They have the personel (kind of). I think Parsons, Harden, Smith, & Jones (definitely him) would be able to do it. Like I said Lin is a great lob passer just need guys to run & jump. In regards to the lob passes in the half court I don't know if Sampson is imaginative enough to run those sets. Mike Dantoni is an offensive genius Sampson not so much. As chemistry develops amongst the team it would be smart of Sampson to institute some of Dantoni's offensive sets. They are very lethal & hard to stop if you have high IQ players which the Rockets definitely have.
^^ I remember I think in the first ..or second game James threw 2 alleyoops at Asik in the same possession and Omer didn't even attempt to get them lol it was funniest thing. James had literally been in Houston for like 2 days so they barely knew each other, I imagine after the game Omer told him not to do that ever again I think when the team gets more comfortable with each other we'll be seeing some alleyoops to Chandler and James. Not PPat though, he can't even catch a rebound if it bounces off his face
LMAO Yes I remember this. James was like nvm & Omer was like wtf who do you think I am? Omer doesn't have the lift for those kind of plays unfortunately.
I am not sure if there's one. For such a short time with the Knicks top 10 alley oops. Isn't that amazing. If coach will let Lin loose...we might see highlights after highlights. My 2 cents.
Yeah I remember those too, and you'll see one or two of these every game in the beginning, which is why I think the Rocket's TO's are higher in the 1st qtr/1st half. I think as Harden learns our guys more and the guys know how/where to run more, less of these turnovers will happen.
Yeah, this is true. But I also agree with Roxxy, the chemistry isn't there yet, and the personnel to connect on the oop is mostly on the bench. By the way, I was skeptical of the coaches, and their utilization of Jeremy at the very start of the season, but you know what, I'm starting to buy in.
Your 2 cents make no sense. How is the coach holding him back. The Rockets just don't really have the personel nor the chemistry to do these kinds of things in transition. The only players that can effectively jump that high to receive the pass is Jones but he isn't getting consistent minutes. Parsons could do it but he brings the ball up in transition sometimes with lin & harden there which I think he shouldn't. What would be smart is to have Parsons/Harden sprint when running the break so that they could receive the pass from Lin in the same way that Russ & Durant do it. In the halfcourt I don't think the offense is immaginative enough likely because of our youth. Like I said the coaches aren't holding Lin back so stop saying they are.
