It seems to me some LOFs pissed off some criticism against Lin even when played good the last few games as if Lin was paid as a superstar. Now they pretend to be LOHs and hope that the Rockets will get rid of him. Amazing.

Lin is working to reduce the arc on his shots. Based from the games and some reporters observation in pregame warm-ups, his shooting is still pretty streaky. I'm afraid we won't see him significantly improve his shooting percentage in this season. Does anyone know if there were any players who successfully changed their shooting forms during the season? Is it even possible to do it in season? Old habits die hard. The last game I saw him still shooting high arc, but he hit those two 3s. I was thinking maybe he should just use his old form for this season and wait for off-season to do any change.
if you make $8.3 mil per year and you are shooting under 40% from the field, you deserve scrutiny. I don't give a crap what ethnicity, nationality, or sexual preference you are.
Here is Lin's shooting coach Doc wrote about Lin, DocScheppler Chris. It's not a "new" shot. It's just reinforcing what we worked on last year. His arc should be 45 degrees and the rotation should be tight and synmetrical. When he shoots the ball in this manner, he is a great shooter. For example it'll be fun for you to watch the ball flight of his shots last year. When he shoots with confidence there's a nice confident, assertive wrist snap. When he's wishing the ball, his arc gets higher and the result is a short miss... I want him to get back to shooting with out care and to believe in his shot. Nobody says he doesn't deserve scrutiny. I myself, a huge Lin supporter, dug out this old thread because I like this thread title and thought we needed such place to evaluate Lin's performance. If you read more of the comments, many Lin fans are posting here their opinions about how and in which area he should improve. You are reaching waaaay too much, sir. Honestly, I don't know why you feel so cynical when it comes to Lin.

according to rockets.com he is at 0.393 now. but seriously, you only care about the shooting percentage for your starting point guard? how about this: if you are averaging over 4 turnovers per game, you deserve scrutiny. i don't give a crap what blah blah blah... no wait, that would be harden and not lin... nevermind, it would be rediculous to pick someone's weakest stat to bash him over and over again.
No worries. After that, I'm sure another benchmark will be put forth for him to fail at. When what you're supposed to get from a PG for 8.3 mil is so ill defined and ill conceived, the standard can be pegged anywhere above how he's performing.
Lin is making $5 mil this year. The same people who criticize Lin for making $8.3 mil this year will criticize him for making $15 mil in his 3rd year.
lol oh Toney... stats for the NBA uses Regularized APM (RAPM), which basically means that it uses +/- takes into account the competition and the teammates. Harden, for instance, is +4.65 for Offense when he's on the floor, but -0.68 on Defense. Asik is -1.58 on Offense while +4.32 on Defense. These numbers make Harden and Asik respectively Offensively and Defensively elite, even though Harden's mediocre/slightly-bad on Defense and Asik still desperately needs improvement on Offense, relative to the league. Toney Douglas? According to these numbers, he is a slight liability on Offense (-.82) but the worst defensive player on this team (-1.91). And Parsons is slightly good on Defense, same as Lin, and surprisingly Delfino.
I am a lin fan. Yes, i came over from the NYK forums. I admit i never watched basketball since the MJ era. however, i do think that last year was last year. This year is still early. So, essentially, his performance is completely an unknown quantity going forward. Disregard all the stats i say. By the end of this season, all issues are null and void. The knee will be fully healed. He will have one full season under his belt. He will be comfortable with the new organization, coaching staff and teammates. Until then, lets just all sit back and enjoy the show, eh? And I agree that now is time to support the WHOLE team and not just one player, even if he does transcend space and time!
That's not how it works for the Rockets. They are paying Lin (and Asik) $8.3 every year. The Knicks (and Bulls) would've been paying him $5, $5, and $15.
It counts against the cap as $8.3 every year, but I think they actually are paying 5,5,15. But the cap is what matters.
This. The cap is what matters & the cap hit is 8.3 a year over 3 years. Asik & Lin are getting paid 5/5/15. But the cap hit is all that matters when talking about the players salary & whether they are living up to it.
