Lin will average nearly nine assists per game if he is the starter and doesn't get hurt

I would tend to agree with this. Howard is a great finisher, much better hands than Asik. 8 or 9 assists per game, easy. Also Lin is shooting lights out this offseason. Expect lots of double teams on Harden and Howard and which will mean lots of three point attempts for Lin, Parsons and (hold breath) DMo.

This offseason? That competition is nothing like what he sees in the league. Please do not use this as a measuring stick. The summer league has better players.....

I don't see the pace slowing down. The offense just got a lot more layers and it won't stall.

    I agree 100%.

With Harden, Howard, and Parsons, there aren't enough points (or maybe even assists) to go around. There are still only 48 minutes in a game and only an X number of realistic possessions.

I don't think Lin's averages will change that much. Maybe 14/7. But what will matter is his efficiency, as well as his ability to take over games when the superstars or Parsons aren't playing well.

A player average 2 steals a game is accused of bad defense?

Bev does not has good defense. He is a role player, he doesn't care if he get foul out.

Each foul is a second opportunity for the other team, if great defense mean giving more second opportunity to the other team, then please explain to me how efficient his defense is?

OP wanna do a tip jar bet of 500 dollars?

I say Lin will average less than 9 assists. 6 or 7 is a more realistic number. With Dwight we will not be playing at the same pace as last season, the ball will go through Dwight a lots well as Harden.

I think the change will be an inside-out offense with Howard as the number 1 option. But it doesn't change the pace of the offense. Just because Howard is the number 1 option, it doesn't mean every opportunity has to go through him.

Lol. Either you stop using steals as proof of defense, or you have to agree that Harden plays good D.
    Take your pick!

Couldn't agree more with both posters.

For people who says our game will slow down because of Howard, I disagree. With Howard, we'll gain more running opportunity because of his defense (blocks or creating steal opportunities).

Unless he plays like an All star, I don't see his #s (pts/ast/reb) go up being the 4th banana. What I hope to see is his FG/FT % go up and TO go down.

I don't get this hate on Lin just because you don't like the LOFs, it is like hating on your wife because you don't like your in-laws. If Lin doesn't work out, he'll be benched/traded. He is a Rocket now, let's root for him. If he succeeds, the team succeeds.

For the posters who are here complaining about another Lin thread, all you have to do is not click on it. You are more annoying than the LOFs.
Looking at the latest 30 threads, only 2 are Lin specific, stop adding garbage to the threads.

OP you got the title all wrong " if he's a starter"? He is the starter. No wonder LOF's aren't being taken seriously, you're having doubts yourselves. Yes, I'm really laughing my azz off in front of my screen now.

Jeremy Lin will start the next season, if he plays like his old self, then nobody can take his starting job, and his assists will go up.

    You've been brain-washed by the LOH's and the ABJ's?

Why would Rockets running game be compromised? Dwight doesn't have to be the one running all the way back every possession. One of the best thing about Parsons was he was consistently running back full speed on every offensive possession to get easy buckets.
