"Sources say that the Milwaukee Bucks are another team that would consider trading for Lin if the Rockets add a sweetener or two to the deal for the privilege of shedding Lin's contract to a team that can comfortably absorb it. It's believed that the Rockets would have to send Philadelphia at least one future first-round pick to convince the Sixers to go through with the deal, given that Lin is owed $15 million next season despite the fact that his contract will only count for $8.4 million for salary cap purposes." if he goes to Milwaukee, at least he'll have a chance to play for a starting position with a franchise on the upswing, where as in Philly, he'd be pigeon holed on a tanking franchise as a backup to Michael Carter Williams.
Considering the style of play Philly had last year, I don't think that playing with MCW would hinder his numbers too badly. He'd still have a pretty good opportunity to stuff the stat sheet next season, thus helping his next contract. I'd venture to say that Philly might be a better fit for him to put up big numbers even with having MCW on the roster.
Wrong forum bro. This is Houston Rockets fan forum. You must be looking for iwanttohavejeremylinsbaby.net
Also, couldn't we put in some sort of sweetener in the sense that we pay $7 mill of his contract? Either way it's only gonna hit the other team's cap at 8.4 mill. Much like New York paid Toney Douglas' contract when they sent him our way for Camby. Or would that be breaking some sort of cap rule? I don't have bima-like knowledge.
I think the Bucks would take Lin if we gave them a few 2nd rounders and we take back Ersan Ilyasova who Morey covets. If this Melo thing fizzles out....Ersan Ilyasova will be a nice piece. Don't let last season determine if he can ball or not....he can. He was injured most the season
Lin will be getting paid no matter where he plays next season. He needs to be praying the World doesn't end so he sees those checks.
Don't give a single F where he goes as long as he leaves the Rockets. That contract for the mediocre production is just not worth it.
Got it, thanks for the info. Figured that I was mistaken since I hadn't seen the idea pitched already. Repped for the info.
