Lowry now but Lin for the future.

A 6'3-4 Lowry would be so good.

He has only done it for 9 games come back to me when he has done it for 900 games then maybe, just maybe he is better.

    Bahahaha!

    32 points on 9-13 FG, 7-8 3PT  7-7 FT, 9 assist, 1 turnover

    I'll take Lowry, thank you.

That said, a big screw you to Stern for making us cut Lin since the Dragic trade didn't go down.

Lowry based on defense, toughness, and strength, and passing. Still, Lin has the height and quickness. Not enough though.

The fact we're even having this discussion is insanity though, Lowry is a borderline all-star. I don't think I've ever seen anyone's star rise so fast as Lin's.

NY helps. If he was a PG in SAC, he'd get one-two mentions and thats it.

    1. NYC: The fact that this is happening in NYC. By no means, am I taking anything away from what Lin has performed. He has proven that he deserves to be out there competing and starring. However, if he had done this for any of the smaller teams out there, he would barely be known by even general NBA fans.

    2. Social Media: Combined with the ubiquity of social media and everyone seeing what he has done with youtube immediately, his presence has skyrocketed. 10 years ago, if a player did this most people would only see a few highlights on ESPN and that is it. Overall coverage was not as omnipresent as it is today, so it would taken much longer for him to be such a story.

    3. Shortened season. He has played in 9 games in less than 2 weeks. Just comprehend that. That is a ridiculous amount of a games in a shorten timespan, something that would never happen in any regular NBA season.

Before you come back with "he would have more practice time and rest in a regular season". Do you really think he could be doing better than he is right now? Once you get to a point, it is harder to improve upon it. There is more chance.

Any improvement on he would be playing now would be very little compared to the increase of amount of time that other teams would have to analyze him and try to figure him out.

Also, spacing those games out helps allow him NOT be the front page every day. Right now he has a new game every day to get a new headline. If that was every other day or every third day, it slows the moment of the news story because there is not as much to add to it.

    4. It's freaking February. What sports is there to care about in February after the Super Bowl? NOTHING. Spring training hasn't started. March Madness hasn't started. NFL draft hasn't started.

Nothing is going on other than the NBA. Plus in a normal season, we would have the All-Star break right now. While Lin will be at the All-Star break, that would definitely cause a break in the stories momentum.

    5. Asian: To ignore this is ignorance. The fact that he is Asian is a huge story of his sudden rise and popularity. That is the reason why it gets coverage on ABC news and regular news channels, not because he is playing great. Kobe Bryant scored 81 pts in a game, had 2 weeks average over 40 pts, Rockets won 22 games in a row, etc. and none of those events got coverage on headline national news broadcasts. The fact that they can use that fact to talk about race and stereotypes, and such is the entire reason it has bled into that part of the news media.

What puts Lin over Lowry and over other point guards is his instincts and IQ.

If you watch his game he makes adjustments and turns NOvak and jefferies into players.

Magic Johnston ,steve nash and jason kidd are going nuts... over Lin cause they know you can't teach these skills.

Lowry's a good player.....but Lin has already passed him.

He gives Novak the ball when he is open... Novak was already a TREMENDOUS shooter just needed someone to pass him the ball. If Shumpert wasn't such an idiot he would average 6 assists just penetrating and kicking it out to "Novakain". Jared Jeffries played the exact same way when he was here in Houston and people still hated him here.

Lin does get his shoot off much easier than Lowry in the paint that's for sure.

Are you trying to say if Novak were still on the Rockets roster, Lowry would average stats like Lin in the past 10 games straight away? I highly doubt that.

Lin is a much smarter player than Lowry, it is not just about passing the ball to Novak when he's open.

This thread is laughable, Lin is good sure but put any good PG in Dantoni system and your gon get monster numbers. See Chris Duhon and Raymond Felton.
Lowry would have a field day in that system.

    Duhon averaged 11 and 7, then 7 and 6 under D'Antoni system.

Felton averaged 17 and 9 under DAntoni. He had averaged 14.4 and 7.4 previously. Not really that huge a jump.

Neither of them put up numbers close to what Lin has put up in the last 8-9 games, and neither of them had W/L record close to where Lin's is so far.

Lin's talents and statistical output are a lot different than that of Duhon or Felton.

Because the The New York Post poll is the end all be all.

Great! Now the GARM is going to get overrun by Lin Only Fans (LOFs)

Felton had more talented NYK team an didn't look to score as much as Lin is. Look at Felton this year. 17/9 were career numbers btw.

My point is that Lin is just a good player and he's playing in a favorable System that showcases his talents.
IMO Lowry isthr better player. But Lin defiantly is no joke, this Linsanity is just going ott. I'm happy for him but he was never going to flourish here.

Lowry is more polished and plays well in half court sets AS WELL AS in the open court. J.Lin plays better in the open court. Can't cry over spilled milk, but I do cringe every time I see the Knicks win. Our 2012 pick just keeps losing its value..

You need to crawl out of your shell and see the outside world.
At this point, Lin > Lowry.
