Lin's market value might force the Rockets to waive him...... The team might end up going Bevs/Brooks for the PG rotation.
Well if he turns it over he gets benched for the game. Rockets want him to play mistake free even at the cost of playmaking basically the coaches want him to be Beverley. While I dont agree he has to do wht is asked of him.
He needs to get his shooting back..He may compete with Brooks for backup minutes soon if he still shoot low % from the arc. Where did all the offseason work go? If this is really about his confidence, I am sorry but his mental may not be as strong as some of his fans claimed. Regard to the benching, coach is just trying to win the game. Why on earth would they care to build Lin's confidence more than winning the game? Dude just needs to toughen up and be ready to play. Both Beverley and Brooks are ultra competitive guys and Lin is short in that aspect
This is what happens when you are on a short leash. In new york he could be aggressive make mistakes and still finish the 4th quarter. In this system if he turns the ball over 2 or 3 times he is done for the game. At the end of the day it's all about how much your coach trusts you and if they have other options (in New York Dantoni literally had 0 options at the point besides Lin) We all know Lin's shortcomings and weaknesses and we also know his strength ( pick n roll / fast first step) But when the system marginalizes his strength all we are left is his weaknesses it just makes him look like a scrub.
Honestly? It's all that religious bullcrap. Lin's so concerned with being the 'nice guy' and playing for God or something, he just needs to take the game by the balls and pull.
Basically, this is his second year playing full-time. He spent two years sitting in the bench. The guy still has much to develop. People must be idiots to think that Jeremy is done. Cannot improve or develop his game. There are idiots like that out there.
Lin's highest TO games since his injuries are: 12/23: 5 TOs, 37 minutes played. 12/26: 4 TOs, 37 minutes played 1/8: 4 TOs, 39 minutes played 1/1-: 4 TOs, 39 minutes played.
You're preaching to the choir...... Deep down, I don't think McHale and especially Sampson wanted this player from the get-go......
Yes. This league is not for nice guys. It's for competitive guys like KD, CP3, and Kobe. Guys like Kobe may get a lot of hate from teammates but he wins championships. If Jeremy could not even take Beverly and Brooks in competition, why should we even expect him to compete with the 1st tier guards in this league? He has a long way to go, skill wise AND mental wise
Lin has a lot of potential. His stats and game compare favorably to Tony Parker at this stage. But when I look at him, honestly, it looks like his nutrition is whats wrong with him. He looks scary skinny. Sickly. Fatigued. Tired. His teeth are rotting out of his head. You would think a Harvard Grad would know a little bit more about nutrition. Seriously. Somebody teach this kid what to eat.
