If he is playing badly, you won't get anything back for him. You'll have to give up an asset just to dump the contract and there is no point in wasting an asset while not creating any meaningful flexibility.
Lots of confirmation bias going on, Lin has a far far longer leash than what some posters here think. The only reason Parsons and Harden seem to have longer leashes is because there is a tremendous talent drop off when Harden or Parsons come off the court.
Being something to this convo please, people were actually have a good discussion on what the rockets should do like trade him to get something I return or clear cap. Instead you come bashing we all know Lin has his problems just like other players do here, cp 3 turnovers, harden 4 tonight. Cp sucked also unlike harden he got his points but I'm sure youre not finding a thread to hate on cp in
Thing is I think currently Lin still has some market value, but the way it's going it might not be the same come next year. Unless we suddenly have a coaching / system change I feel like his value is just going to drop more and more.
Lin must be hurt or something as he's certainly not looking too effective lately. I'm starting to get to the belief that PG is our biggest position of need.
my thing is if we're going to get something back in return we at least news to play him show what he can do. The last 2 games in second half when Lin is benched the team is actually doing good even tho Lin May not be. we're usually up by 10 when he has to come out just like the thunder game. So it's like the team has to be playing good and Lin has to be playing perfect too stay in. It has to be both
Plenty of time to NOT get the foot on the 3-point line, jump passing, not getting a hand up or being with his man on defence (guy looks lost on D) and when he moves the ball into the mid-range to paint area he just stops and breaks up the play because the rest of his team doesn't expect him to just stop and get "stuck" the way he does on offensive plays (does this so many damn times, I can't believe no one really talks about this). Someone just has to D him up and he looks like he's in panic mode sometimes and gets cement on his feet.
if Mchale is only gonna play him for 23 mins per game then Lin was a complete wast of $$. If Bev/Brooks/Cannon are good enough, cut your losses an trade the dude.
I think he's way too scared of turning the ball over. Let the 'turnover prone' label get to his head and makes him panic every time there's any sort of defensive presence in the paint.
