It seems like Jeremy's role is to come off the bench and dig the starters out of the hole, then coach will take him out again and cool him down.
To be fair, he also got the lead started in the first place. He was horrible in the second half though, which I'm hoping is just due to his elbow. But it looked almost like he was uninterested out there after halftime.
if he can perform consistently like first half yes. the 2nd half is a mess and the energy level of the whole team is not right. seem no one is interested, even missing easy layups. with a good coach maybe can keep him on the "good side" but this one, nah.
Lin's playing much better than he did last season. He still has at least 2 plays a game where I'm compelled to shout at my screen but overall he's been rather good.
Lin need to learn how to bounce back within the same game. Usually if he is a mess in a game, he will stay as a mess. He need to learn to calm down, and stay confident. He and Harden still have a lot to learn. 25 and 24 years old.
Lin still lacks consistency. It's hard to trust an inconsistent player when you don't know if you're going to get the good or bad side. Why i rather bev on the court is we know we'll get consistent defense. His offense is inconsistent, but we have enough scorers on the floor to where we don't really need him to be a scorer, we need h im to move the ball, create plays and play defense.
wizkid83 with the jinx Those stretch of TOs came when the Clippers went zone and he still stubbornly kept driving into the jaws of their defense where there was literally no way to get in. What on earth Jeremy He needs to ..not do that. Take some 3s or mid-range jumpshots. He's been hitting them and they were desperately needed to open things up with Garcia and Casspi struggling offensively. Dont force those drives if they're not there
Yes Lin made some bad plays, but you can't say he lost the lead by himself. The offense completely just sucked...everything was out of sync.
Harden and Dwight should be our 2 best offensive players by talent alone but I wish Harden could be more efficient and use his teammates more and dwight would be more effective in the post. The former shoots at a high volume and disrupts the flow of the team. The latter has a poor post game, either stepping out of bounds, turning it over, or throwing a wild brick at the backboard. I can't even count how many times he has missed the angle on his bank hook shot! Lin has been playing fantastic given his minutes and shot attempts. His overall numbers, particularly his efficiency numbers are great. He'll outgrow his role in Houston though.
It was my fault. After Lin dug us out of the hole in the first half with a +25 I started cheering for him. He then went rubbish in the third...
So he had a bad second half of one game out of 7. It's no big deal. He's been playing consistently well, offensively and defensively, played well in the first half, coach didn't adjust to Doc adjusting to Lin in the first half, Lin didn't play the zone smart, he learns from this. Reading this board is ridiculous, all of the Lin should be traded stuff and over-criticizing him. He's a young player and plays hard and tries to win. He is the second best offensive player and certainly lifts more of his team mates than Harden does. Harden tends to lift Dwight and sometimes Parsons, but not Asik and the rest that Lin tries to get the ball to.
Lin has been efficient, but if he really wants to be the 2nd best offensive player on the team, he needs to be MUCH more aggressive and call his own number. Even if it pisses off Harden, so be it. When Harden isn't having a good night, someone needs to take over but Lin still plays too passive. People need to stop slurping over his PER like it means anything. PER only measures efficiency -- not raw production, which is what we need from a 6th man. Lin shoots 35% from three... great! But how useful is that if he only attempts less than 3 per game? ZERO attempts tonight from three. Lin's efficiency would drop, perhaps significantly if he takes more shots, but that's what we need.
A quick bump, even with Lin's recent cold streak, he's still pretty efficient this year 57% TS%. Hopefully it's the back but and I still have hope for him in the play offs. Go Rockets!!
I'm really hoping Lin has just been struggling because of a bad back. He is our X factor, good or bad.
