    first this:

    then this:

those posts are contradicting each other.
you said "ALL reported buddies" but then you claim you didnt follow lin to know "ALL the reports" about who were his buddies.

So read 2 or 3 reports saying that, then you say wow, he has 3 white buddies, he only have friends that are white!!

yeah because he only have 3 friends.

People need to think before making a thread! thats why I rarely go to the GARM now, bunch of dumb threads.

I noticed that all of Lin's brothers are Asian: brother 1 and 2. Racism?

Keep making excuses, the bottom line is sex sells and the white and black actors out there are sexier and more masculine than their Asian counterparts. Their eyes and actions also convey more subtle understanding of what's required in a scene. It's not exactly different in real life.

In Romeo must Die, the original version had Jet Li kissing Aaliyah but they had to cut it out because females in test audiences were uncomfortable. Girls have an intuitive intelligence in these things and don't want to see little bro types sexualized because those emotions aren't evoked in real life.

Hmm... Things that don't help the Rockets win a NBA Championship in the near future. Should this be added to the list. Most of Lin's friends in Houston will be black as far as who he is with on the court. This shouldn't and probably is not a topic being discussed in the front office at Toyota center.

So are we going to examine the "best buddies color" crisis for players like Carmelo? If his best friends aren't white, then he must be racist too, right? I have black friends, but the majority of my best friends happen to be white. Am I a racist too? This thread is stupid!!!

^^^ Racist ******* here. Trying to rationalize your racism doesn't make you less racist. Unfortunately, many Asians internalize this racism and actually believe this bull****.

What is considered "sexy" has changed over time and a large part of how it changes is based on media portrayal. Think back 10-20 years and you would never see an Asian male in a sexy role.

But the internet is the great equalizer. Watch Youtube and some of the most popular "celebs" are Asian males. They aren't popular b/c of kungfu or some idiotic caricature of Asian stereotypes, but b/c they are genuinely funny or interesting. Then there's the whole KPOP thing. While it is by no means mainstream in America, it still garners a pretty sizable niche of girls/women that consider Asian men to be sexy.

With the internet leading the way in changing female perception about Asians, there has been some movement in mainstream media. For example, AMCs the Walking Dead features an Asian guy as a semi-sex symbol that is sleeping with the only young attractive female on the cast. He is still portrayed as a sidekick, but its a pretty big victory in light of past media portrayals. There are more examples, but the point is that perceptions are changing.

Lol Youtube is amateur hour for those who don't have mainstream ability. You're essentially calling Asian males D-List entertainers at best and only people who approve of D-list entertainment will follow them. There are also many homosexuals on youtube talking about britney spears with millions of views. Found this extremely racist.

What on earth are you talking about?

He's a bumbling dork who stutters around girls but lucks into sexual encounters so the little guy watching at home feels a sense of hope. Not to mention the description says it's a post apocalyptic show so civilization is ending and desperation is high. Is that what the role of a mini sex symbol entails? I guess you proved my point.

And there is no way I'm being racist. If I went to jail I would want an Asian guy as my cellmate.

Black people are good at basketball.

Now that I've injected basketball talk into this thread, does it get to stay here? :p

Correctional system in America is as racism as you will ever see.

Not only you 'own kind' won't accept it, the Asian shot callers won't accept it either. Not to mention the correction admin will only bunk the same race together. Even if you make a special request, it would be detrimental to your safety. This will sever the tie with your own race. Others will see you as a '1 or 0 homo.'

Still wanna bunk with an Asian?

Yup. I said its a small victory. Regardless of what you think, Steven Yeun is seen as a sex symbol of sorts. Same with those D-list celebs and even Jeremy Lin. Then there are the crap load of teen girls that are now thinking that Kpop guys are hot. 10 years ago there was just Jackie Chan and Jet Li and pretty much no one saw them as sex symbols.

The point I am making is that perceptions always change. Have black men always been sex symbols? Of course not. It was a slow progression that began with acceptance and then becoming accustomed to seeing black men as real people instead of some ridiculous stereotype. Asian men are finally shedding the baggage of "Long Duk Dong" and I, for one, am extremely grateful.

Wow! What hole did you just crawl out from? I suggest you take a look at the Asian entertainment/music industry before you say that there are no attractive Asian men.

Fact is there are attractive people of every color and race. And I'd be willing wager a large sum of money they'd get more girls than you.
