Rush Limbaugh didn't speak at CPAC this year. That's from 2009 I believe (before his diet), when he did speak at CPAC. I could be wrong though since I didn't watch CPAC this year (maybe he introduced someone). Actually I am positive that's not 2012 because that's not the right background.
Birth control provided as a part of (paid for) health insurance adds to the bottom line of insurance companies by reducing expensive Neonatal care. Notice you haven't seen any insurance lobbyist jumping in on the religious right side of the issue. The book Freakonomics states that legal abortion along with free contraception actually save tax dollars by reducing the number of unwanted children and absentee father families that are a major contributor to the social costs of crime and law enforcement. It would be a net budgetary positive if the Federal Government did provide free contraception universally.

Republicans knew they had an edge as long as the economy sucked and unemployement was high. Well the econonomy has turned up long ago and we've seen months of consecutive job gains. If employement numbers are below 8% in November, which looks almost certain, then the GOP has nothing to run on ...that is unless they change the game. Enter Rush. The BEST thing the GOP has to fuel their base is health care reform. Rush has just inserted that back to the top of the list. If you are liberal, the more you talk about contraceptives is the more the GOP strategy works. Rush is a national troll.
