I hope he beats his addiction, then takes a long vacation to find the real Rush, right through the next election. Then, when he finds who the real Rush is, he can recommit himself to lying about Democrats and bashing the Democratic president as he leads this country back to good times.

I like his statement- no whining, no blaming anyone, not asking us to feel sorry for him. He knows he did wrong, and he's gonna fix it.

Yeah, but he was still able to tell his own "sob" story and he had to admit that addiction had a hold on him. Rush has said some pretty fierce things about drug addicts and discounted the hold addiction has on addicts--some things said while he was battling the addiction beast himself. I just hope he gets through this and will hopefully allow his experience to influence his agenda.

You know I have always tried to be honest with you and open about my life. So I need to tell you today that part of what you have heard and read is correct. I am addicted to prescription pain medication

At least he is being honest about his drug addiction. I don't think he has been too honest about the rest of his life. This could be the start.

Best wishes to Rush. Whether you agree with his politics or not, he has revolutionized the way people listen to radio and he has provided an informed opinion to millions of listeners.

I wouldn't wish addiction on anyone, of course. I hope he beats it and coming clean is a good step forward. He needs support from those close to him, and I'm not talking about his listeners.

It would be nice if he would apologize at some point in the future for some of the things he's said about others, but I'm not going to hold my breath. Right now, he needs to concern himself with his health and staying out of jail. That and not dying from embarrassment from the story breaking in the "National Enquirer".

If, after rehab, Limbaugh does not apologize to addicts that he has trashed on his show on more than one occasion, then to me he will be just as big of a hypocrite as the hypocrite that currently occupies the White House.

I won't be holding my breath either.

He singlehandedly saved AM radio and is the father of the "alternative media." I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing on the AM dial without him, so I will pray for the Godfather.

It pains me to say this but Rush deserves it. HE deserves no sympathy. He is a stupid hypocrite. In life, you get what you sow.

Rush puts downs others that are down and tries to walk the high moral avenue - he should not and MUST NOT get away with this one. He deserves to be stumped beyond repair. Hopefully after that he will learn his lessons. I also want to use this opportunity to heap a trainer load of blame to a sect of his fervent listeners who I believe are naive for *they believed that he is morally upright and that he posseses spotless integrity*.

I and a Christian and a born again one for that matter and I am a hypocrite also. As a Christian I try to educate anyone who cares to listen that only naive people fall for those who take the high moral ground and try to over stretch it - open your ears and eyes. This is the sole reason why I don not like George W Bush the Right and any other person who "tries" the ever hypocritic MORAL 'low-road'. Because they don't get it - all have sinned and come shot of the glory of God. Don't flash me that righteouness nonesence. I love and hate politics. I wish for one day when politians will run races based on the freaking ISSUES and leave the moral lies and deceit out of the whole game. I feel sad that there are millions and millions of decent people in this country who continually get deceived and allow themselves to be ZOMBIED regularly by the clergymen and politians. I am more God fearing and moral than George Bush, Rush and Joe Lieberman combined but I will never use it as a leverage to gain cheap and distorted popularity, acceptance and support.

wow...in one post you go from "i'm a born-again Christian" to "this guy deserves no sympathy." you really have that Jesus thing down, huh? i particularly like the part where you dare to say you have a better spiritual walk than others...that's classic.

    self-righteousness judging self-righteousness. absolutely beautiful.

Addiction is a horrible thing to befall anyone, and I wish him a fast recovery.

But if anyone deserves to find out what a bitter, bitter crop that hypocrisy reaps, it's him.

"Drug users should be convicted and sent up"
    -Rush Limbaugh

After he cleans himself up in rehab he will turn into a narc, thus saving himself from being "sent up". I have sympathy for those who deserve it, but Rush Limbaugh is disgusting and deserves no sympathy from anyone.

You sound like you're about to cry. The guy is a piece of garbage and I'm glad he continues to be exposed for what a hateful, self-righteous fool he is. I have sympathy for his family and that's about it. I hope he gets to spend some time in prison with all the type people he's denigrated and trashed through the years.

His abuse of this drug likely caused his hearing problem in the first place.

If an investigation was about to reveal details of my drug problems then I'd admit to them too. It's easy to tell the truth when the truth is right around the corner.

Remember how Kobe got flamed for admitting to sexual relations only after being formally accused?

Same principle at work here. Rush is a joke.

I know people who have been addicted to prescription pills and they say it is a real mf'er to beat. I am having a problem with all of this bleeding heart BS for him, though. Rush is getting a lot more compassion for his problems than he ever gave anyone else. I hope he beats his addictions like I want anyone suffering to get over their pain, but this is karma if I ever saw it.
