Glad your alright. What would have happened if you didn't get treatment? Would your heart just continue to be out of whack? Would you die?

Glad to hear you're OK. I seem to recall that people can have some lingering effects. I would read up on it and see what they experience.
Sorry about the delay, I was put back in the hospital Thursday night. My ticker seems to still be having some issues. Hopefully they are all resolved. Hell, we have suffered sooooo long I am more than willing to take one for the team if that's what it takes; unfortunately, I don't think even that will be enough. That is the truth. He was quite brave, but I see some post traumatic symtoms. I was told by Mrs. Horns just yesterday that (even in blue skies) I tend to keep looking up about every few minutes or so. This morning I noticed my son doing the same. According to the medic supervisor, the pulse and rythm that it was in when they got here was putting me "in danger of cardiac arrest." I am all ready having some problems. I am chronically tired but cannot sleep. When I attempt to do anything that calls for physical effort I just can't seem to get or keep myself going. Lastly, I have had several occasions where I will suddenly not know what I am supposed to do. Like I was cooking and I got the meat out started the grill and forgot about it for over 30 minutes until the wifey came and and asked "weren't you going to cook?" VERY FRUSTRATING! Doctors do not seem to understand the importance of us regular working guys and that no one picks up my work and does it like another doctor who covers his or her patients, so I am going to attempt to return to work on Monday, that will be an adventure.
Man, that's incredible. You hear about that sort of stuff time to time, but never get any kind of follow up. Hope things return to normal, Horns. Are the doctors concerned about the aftereffects, or do they feel they will fade after time?
According to all the doctors that I ask (to the point they are likely sick of hearing me talk) electricution is a very tough thing to predict a recovery b/c the brain, heart and central nervous system are affected in different ways based on the amout of voltage that runs through your body. When I ask them anything the answers are to the effect maybe I will be fine or maybe there will be long term issues. They seem to think most everything will be back to normal, eventually. However, there are some things that may never be the same. Answers like that make this whole thing that much more difficult for me. Hell, according to them I my heart had little chance of having more problems after I went 24 hours with no arrhythmia issue. But when I went back in with an arrhythmia problem, the new answer is we are going to have to watch this closely for a while.
TheHorns - I know nothing about lightning strikes, but it seems to me I have seen various articles over the years about how the long term consequences can be difficult to deal with.
