So we ere hot for a week, at least we didn't lose our houses and everything we owned. I didn't like it either, but like my grandfather we lived like the did in the 20's. No big deal

 

The fire chiefs name is Kristin Crowley. Lets look if shes qualified or not: She served as a Firefighter, Paramedic, Engineer, Fire Inspector, Captain I, Captain II, Battalion Chief, Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief, Chief Deputy, and Fire Chief.

Shes had almost every job in the department before she was promoted to Chief. Have you ever thought that maybe you dont need to listen to everything foxnews tells you and you can use google on your own? Its a free website fyi www.google.com

I didn't have these issues.

I did lose a house during Ike, but there's nothing the Gov/Mayor etc.. could've done about that. These fires are a direct result of mismanagement.

 

All I know is she's a big reason her city is on fire. She was unprepared. So she obviously shouldn't have had her job.

BTW, I put my TV on the Direct TV News mix channel 307-1 so I get a well rounded view of what's going on.

 

She was not a "DEI" hire. Shes an engineer whos been at the department for 2 decades and has held every management position out there. Not every colored/lgbtq person is a "dei" hire. They may be shitty at their jobs like other people are shitty at their jobs but that doesnt mean they were less qualified.

Reliant energy is a MONOPOLY. There is NO competition in Texas in the energy markets. Not having electricity for a week after a cat 1 hurricane hitting is due to bad management. Not having heating for a week while temp are below 0 is due to a monopoly not caring cuz they'll be protected.

I'm glad I live here and despite a few hiccups. Can't stop the weather.

Governor Abbott has done a fine job although there are a few animal rights issues I wish he viewed differently. Making the immigration issue a national issue was brilliant. Doing his best to defend Texas borders will one day make him a Texas legend.

Predictably the maga crowd here is of course reveling in tragedy because these are just straight up terrible people. Trump has ruined any sense of humanity you guys had.

I think the one lie that Kamala told on the campaign trail constantly is that we all have much more in common with each other than we do with what separates us. I literally have nothing in common with these scumbags who are celebrating thousands of lives being destroyed today by a natural disaster.

A friend of mine had to flee her home yesterday and the cell service unfortunately isn’t working for many there so we are waiting to get some sort of heads up her and the girls made it to safety.

This is a dire situation for many folks and we all will be paying for it with at the very least property insurance hikes. We here in Texas are likely to contribute to those insurance hikes as well since we are prone to quite a few natural disasters so anyone thinking that going maga somehow magically protects your state and your pocketbooks from the devastation that climate change is going to bring is a damn fool.
