Here is the deal...I propose that we should consider military strikes against IRAN because we are in the war on terror and those that contribute to terror...terror, as was pointed out by another poster is "tactics", and we will or should fight these tactics which will be used against us...

It means we do so by effectively neutralizing these tactics which may or may not include the termination of personnel....(diplomacy is obviously a tool)

I propose IRAN certainly is a great contributor to the threat by the following:

Iran A.) willfully supports by training and other avenues, and possibly engages U.S. military personnel to undermine our operations in Iraq...

Iran B.) supports the culture, and the mindset ideology of suicide bombing...

Iran C.) supports terroristic groups by shelter and monetary support considering the region, it influences the legitimacy of the group considering the religious common ground to neigboring states...

There is an abundance of evidence that supports:...A, B, and C.

In consideration of this fact, I would like to support the planning, and possible action phase of a military strike.

I guess right about...now...warrants changing "possibly" to "obviously", on the heels of the reported Hezbollah/Iran involvement...

Are you suggesting that we take a vote on it here in the legally binding super double secret Clutchfans Congress?

Do we really want to invoke the clandestine charter that will invalidate the elected officials in DC?

    Must we?

    We must!

Day before yesterday I saw some guy in a white pickup truck driving around with a giant wooden sign in the bed which said, "ATTACK IRAN". Has anybody else seen this guy?

I can't believe most of us lament over the 3,000+ U.S. soldiers dead and have no sympathy for the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians dead. Is an American soldier's life worth more than an Iraqi civilian's life?

I hate all death, but most of the Iraqi deaths are being caused by other Iraqis........and when the US finally leaves, it will escalate until they are all tired of war...and things settle down.

The problem with the type of war the US attempted to fight is that the US was not ruthless enough.

If you are going to go to war, you have to kill enough of the enemy or citizenship to take away their WILL to fight......if you do it surgically, it will simply give rise to more resistance.

Now, I am not saying we should have carpet bombed or nuked Baghdad, I am just saying if you are not going to go into war to win...don't go.

    Surgical wars do not work....IMO

Depends on your objectives. The Israelis wanted to stop Saddam Hussein from getting an atomic bomb, so they used a surgical strike against his reactor. That was definitely an act of war, was surgical in nature, and accomplished the desired objective. Hussein never acquired a nuclear weapon.
