A question to Basso. Do you have a problem with supporting candidates who agree with you on national security issues but disagree with you on social issues?
i look at the totality of the package, and try to bring an open mind. i have an open mind about Obama for instance, not so much about ron paul or huckabee. i have an open mind about biden and richardson, rudy g (my current fav) and mccain (number 2 with a bullet). i'm undecided about fred. my mind's pretty much made up about hillary.
IT isn't incidental, nor is it a threat to take over our nation. If you actually believe that every candidate in the race on both sides of the aisle is committed to defending the U.S. against terrorism, you are more gullible than I had imagined, and I wasn't sure that was possible. They may have different ideas about how to do it, but to imagine that candidates like Lieberman, and McCain are concerned with protecting our nation, their children, and our citizens, while candidates like Biden, and Obama are not concerned with those very same goals is ludicrous. It is one of the things that creates fear and divides our nation rather than strengthen it.
Looks like, in the last week, McCain has shot up in the NH polls. He basically needs to win NH to have any shot, so it's pretty significant. Lieberman + the various papers all supporting him have had an impact it seems. If it gets independents voting in the GOP primary, it helps McCain a lot (and hurts Obama). http://www.realclearpolitics.com/ep..._hampshire_republican_primary-193.html#charts
unfortunately for repubs, mccain is the only repub who has the chance to beat a democrat fortunately for democrats, mccain will lose the repub primary
