I don’t think he should be outed. I don’t think he ever should have been and I question the purpose of why Rand Paul wants his name out in the public. Just because his name has been released before does not mean it should be put out there again for public consumption. That is the whole point of the protections of the whistle blower protections.

I am very curious to see if someone like Sanders is elected President if he will build on what has happened the last 3 years especially (but really 20 years) and literally do anything he wants and argue precedence or count on not being removed from office. It would be an absolute disaster.

How are you so sure? Do you know the name of the whistleblower and the name Paul mentioned in his question at the hearing?

    WSJ article:
"The question included the name of a person believed by some people to be the whistleblower who helped set off the impeachment inquiry.

The whistleblower’s lawyer hasn’t confirmed the person’s name."

So is your view is that anyone who reports wrongdoing by their employer should not be able to remain anonymous even if they face possible reprisal?

what reprisal do you refer? firing? then the answer to your question is yes. I believe in the principals behind the Confrontation Clause.

In this case, its even more important because the believed whistle blower (Caramella) actually worked for Biden and very possibly was culpable in the corruption Trump wanted investigated.

And, lest we be disappointed, CJ Juan's preemptive call that he'd basically hand any ties to team R is exactly the kind of cowardice via suspension of disbelief that we've seen from him since 2017

Being not a coward and standing up for decency in the age of Trump is a low bar - luminaries like Michael Cohen have managed to clear it. I mean, bureaucratic mustachioed warstarter-not-finisher John Bolton,r, who never saw a mideast conflict he wasn't ready to start shredding 18 year old American kids bodies for, is freaking Nathan Hale with a book deal these days.

But John Roberts - nope, too busy protecting the Court to protect the country.
