he's not a democrat? it's perfectly in tune with most of what i hear coming from the left. and btw, jesse jackson was once a major civil rights leader, if not on the level of MLKJr. now he's just a bolw-hard who tries to blackmail (pun intended) corporations to pad his own payroll and line his own pockets. sad, that such a great orator has become nothing but a bunch of hot air.

It's ironic to me that the people who criticize this administration for not doing enough to prevent 9/11 are the same people who criticize this administration for "restricting freedom" whenever they try to take action to prevent it from happening again.

How dare you compare Jesse Jackson, a known philanderer, racist and criminal, to a collection of our nation's most respected leaders? Disgusting. Dr. King is held in very high regard by almost all conservatives. You disgust me.

I know you love Bill Clinton, Andy. I know you think that I'm trampling on that sociopathic liar you love so much who did NOTHING. He did nothing to fight terror Andy. Not a goddamned thing. I know you want to believe that a GOP congress hamstrung your brave prez's attempts to fight terrorism. He refused to take OBL when he was offered by the Sudanese. His idiot justice dept. put all sorts of clamps on the ability of our agents in the name of political correctness. He treated terrorism as a LE problem and that is why 9/11 happened. Quit repeating the big lie, hoss. His eight years cost us a bunch. I'm tired of hearing you repeat this lie over and over and over again. Do some research and you'll find that Clinton was about as negligent in the matters of national security as any president in our history. He hardly ever met with his CIA director, overextended our forces, bleeding from his constant cuts, on bull**** peacekeeping boondoogles and refused to do anything militarily after the Cole was bombed and the Khobar Towers were leveled. The blood of 3,000 is on his hands for his incompetence.

So Clarence Thomas is one of "our nations most respected leaders", eh? Dr. King is "held in very high regard by almost all conservatives"?

    WTF?

Drop the crackpipe and slowly back away. You're beginning to hallucinate.

You know, if I didn't know any better, I would accuse you of being another poster on this BBS. One with quite a few posts. You have a *very* predictable pattern.

This is where you continue to ignore facts. I have repeatedly stated that I was as upset as the next guy (though not as upset as Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'Reilly) that Clinton lied to me and I was not pleased with many of his policies, which is why I did not vote for his reelection.

You are the one who needs to open your eyes and so some real research so that you can find the truth and stop spreading the GOP talking points and lies.

You are becoming as big a shill as t_j. I thought you were a fiscal conservative, but that too must be a lie.

A couple of things really quick:

Gary Trudeau's strip was not at all racist.

The Powell post was not from the democratic party, nor was it supported by them.

Clinton did in fact focus on terrorism. Clinton did issue the orders to have Bin Laden assassinated. It was in part luck that the guy was caught by an alert agent to foil the LAX plot, but what Clinton had been doing in intel gathering previous to that and post that helped have everything the govt. needed to follow through. That was all ready and done because of Clinton's focus on terrorism. I believe it was another thread where Rimrocker posted the article that had Clinton telling Congress to focus and pass his anti-terrorism legislation, before they went on recess. But Clinton was being hampered by Republicans who didn't want to spend the money on the anti-terror measures. Also one more time... Clinton was never offered Bin Ladan by the Sudaneese govt. Anybody who posts that again should be laughed off the board. That one has been refuted and disproved more than just about anything else on this board.

Clinton is a liar, and he perjured himself, and tried to weasal out of it. Bush is a liar, and won't face up to it. Bush's admin are even bigger liars, and one of them committed a felony, by exposing the identity of an intel agent, while we have troops in the field and are engaged on the war on terror. A perjurer is a dishonor and a shame. A felon with top level security clearnance in a time of war is a threat to the nation.

The 9/11 commission is chaired by a Republican, and the most balanced member on the commission is Bob Kerrey. He comes down hard on everybody who has testified. It didn't matter if it was Richard Clarke or Condi Rice.

It's funny, this forum was created for Debate and Discussion.

I see none of that going on.

(or at least right now, for *some* reason  )

There is plenty of debate and discussion going on. Of course, this thread was started by a member who delights in what he considers an amusing avocation here, yanking the chains of various folks to get some sort of reaction out of them. I truly think there is a lot of excellent political discussion here at D&D. It has it's ebbs and flows of quality and quantity, but so do the other forums. And a lot of great discussions about other subjects. I frequently end up reading the threads I don't post in and often enjoy the hell out of it. (or not... ;) )

I plan on discussing the elections coming up, the political actors, their attendent scandals and controversies, and anything else when the spirit moves me, given the time. The BS is just something to shrug off. And if I ever find that hard to do or get too bored, I'll take a little sabbatical. :)
