really? to stay on the air, someone must have viewers? i had no idea!? i actually thought that not one single person watched those shows. thank you for your basic lesson in how television/radio works.

my point is that they are not considered spokespersons for the left. like it or not, people on the right follow guys like rush/hannity/coulter/beck more closely than the left follows olbermann (i'm leaving the other two out of this because they're nowhere near the tripe that olbermann can spew that's comparable to the wingnuts). ratings (that the right love to trot out), book sales, and personal anecdotes help prove that.

i mean only in america can a mentally r****ded crybaby have a best seller under the guise of non-fiction.

Your original statement was that liberals had no such shows because they can think for themselves. I refuted your satement by pointing out examples and you supposed spokespersons and crap like that. You could have admitted that your original post was ill advised, but that is apparently too hard.

    here is my first post:

sure, a little hyperbolic maybe, but nowhere in that sentence do i see the words "no", "such", or "shows". i may not be the sharpest tool in the box, but i was well aware before you pointed it out that there were liberal television commentators with their own shows.

By definition, liberal thought is divergent and expanding and conservative thought is reductive and repetitive. So, conservatism is much easier to articulate and it's appeal is broader because of its lower common denominator.

People are wary of change and the unknown but, that's how you make progress.

If only life could be defined to two categories

    Good - Evil
    Right - Wrong
    Black - White
    Liberal - Conservatives
    Democrats - Republicans

If we all could only be high and mighty and arrogant as yourself.

Im not sure what is more sad, your train of thought or that you actually take yourself serious.

    Man, that's a weird response.

That much cognitive dissonance would make me dizzy.

    It's like some sort of anti-Hegel neo-tardism.

First...do not sell yourself short on being the "sharpest tool in the box." On your worst day, you are a sharp guy.

Now...on to the main event. Your "hyperbole" struck me poorly. I found it to be an unnecessary attack on the brainpower of people simply because they disagree with you politically. It, IMO, is the sentiment that will eventually be the unravelling of the American system of government. It is not cool when the conservatives do it, and it is not cool when the liberals do it.

So...in a possibly misguided effort to match hyperbole with example, I posted my smarmy little comment.

My apologies for any ugliness I contributed to this thread.

I don't see why anyone wants to identify themselves as a liberal..
It's fact Obama has close assocations with liberal extremists like VanJones, Wright, Anita Dunn... etc.. These are people who quoted as saying Mao (a person who has murdered 70 million people!) was her favorite political philosopher. You have arrogant extreme senators like Boxer, Reid, etc and liars in Barney Frank.

These are just a small portion of our liberal democrat leaders. Do you so called liberals out there identify yourselves with these people? Do you really like these people? If you do you really have issues and need to find out some facts and I really fear for this country if that is the case.

You can find far right wing congresspersons that are just as arrogant and lie just as often.

Neither side of the political aisle has a monopoly on arrogance.
