It seems that LGs are good but overpriced -- are they really that much better than Vizio which are way cheaper?
I recently bought an LG 20" LCD HDTV for around 400 bucks. It was my first HDTV and the picture is amazing. Very happy with the purchase.
actually they can. especially if you are considering a LCD HDTV. If you sit too close or the tv is too big, the picture looks terrible. You need the proper size depending on your viewing distance. i don't think this applies with plasmas, but I own an LCD so I don't know. On topic, a friend has a LG lcd and the picture is great
This is apples to oranges but we bought an LG refrigerator and it's a terrible product. Freezer flies open when you shut the refrigerator door, sensor in the freezer constantly malfunctions and freezes the food in the refrigerator, replaced a broken glass shelf to the tune of $130. Would never buy another LG product with this type of quality control.
Free shipping is nice. But are you going to mount a 50-inch TV on the wall yourself? If not, who do you call to get it done for you?
Speaking of cheap.... Circuit City has a 50 inch plasma for $1,200 with free shipping. http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/prod...mid=&linkid=j22862441&affiliateid=k24799&mid= But I will still hold out. It doesn't have the features I want. I can't find any reviews on it. And, truthfully, I'm still gonna wait for the prices to drop more. If this TV is $1200 now, a nicer TV will be $999 (or less) in a year. I can wait. That's a pretty low price, though.
what??? it's not a good idea to buy a 70 inch tv if you're gonna be 6 feet away from it... edit: blake beat me to it
A little bit more info on that deal... The TV is a Magnavox I can't find any professional reviews on it. User reviews from Circuit City and for its sister TV (32" model) at CNet are quite positive. Honestly, if you're cost-conscious... most people can't visually notice the image improvement of 1080p instead of 720p (from what I've heard) and if that's true, that's a pretty damn good bargain. It's got me re-thinking my position.... but I'm just not in a good situation for buying a new TV right now. I need about another 1.5 years for it to fit into my budget.
