I have not done a ton of research into these 3D TVs. What do y'all that own them think... Do you have to wear the glasses all the time or is only certain programming 3D applicable.

I am going to hit up Conns next month and get a new TV. I am using a giant mammoth bigscreen one from about 10 years ago. At this point, I am just leaning toward getting non 3D.

3D is nice, but not too many programming available from live tv, and limited items available upon OnDemand. BluRay and gaming is your main source of 3D. If you are just looking for a nice display, just go non-3D. If you are a hardcore movie watcher and gamer, 3D might be better suited for you.

If you are going to replace your tv in 2, 3 years, buy a 2D now.
    If not, I'd consider buying a 3D.

BTW, if you watch 2D programming on a 3D TV, you don't have to wear glasses.
