Sooner or later, these cheaters or underachievers do get recognized for what they really are. Don't feel bad about it. Just keep on working hard because at the end it will pay off for you, and the cheaters will be left behind. At least thats the case most of the time. I imagine this happening to every school and not just UT-Austin. I also go to UT and as you will move on to upper division classes, cheating will become less of an issue.
This thread disappoints me. It looks like ethics are harder and harder to come by. I guess if you want to live your life with no honesty and no principles. Nor any pride in your own work. Whether or not you get caught is not the point. I would think you would want to at least use your time on earth to be an honest person and a good example for others. No one's perfect and we all make mistakes, but it's alarming to see how many people don't even see why it's not right. I've also been grading this unending pile of papers this weekend to finish off the semester. The cheating technique I'm seeing right now is people who skip a class (it's chemistry lab) and then turn in a report on the experiment anyway, just like if they'd done it.
No, I agree with the fish on this one. He's right -- they shouldn't allow the rampant cheating. Hell, I go to Cougar High, and cheating is WAAAAAY more strongly enforced here. That prof should be fired.
