As I see the light at the end of the tunnel, my new soldiers on the frontline will help me through the battle and we will come out victors! The key to defeating the enemy is to suprise them with anything possible and they will not be able to defend against the new arsenal!

If they make Hill a starter right away, he could lose his confidence and waste his talent like MJ did with Kwame Brown.

If they build him up like Landry and Brooks with practices first and gradually increase his minutes, then he could be develop well. Give him only enough that he can handle, like we did with Brooks and Landry.

    Works for some guys.

Some guys lose their confidence because they are getting no PT. If Hill gets thrown out there, has a few horrible games...then lose his confidence because of it, he's probably never going to be a good player.

Remember Yao had a somewhat slow start in his NBA career, good players are usually very confident...even if they start slow they think it will turn around.

It's like how Martin kept bricking...but kept shooting as well, in his mind the next shot is going in, no matter how many he's missed before.

Yao Ming was already successful player in international competition against NBA and Euroleague players.. Yao Ming had just come into the rookie season after averaging 21.0 points and 9.3 rebs in the 2002 FIBA World Championships. He also played against some NBA and euroleague talent in the 2000 Olympics, 2 years earlier. Going against Kelvin Cato in practice was a breeze compared to what he faced in international competition. He was already bored and ready to play in the preseason games.

Jordan Hill is closer to Landry/Brooks/Kwame level than Yao Ming in his development.

Don't forget that Rockets developed Yao Ming off the bench also. He got 11 minutes in his 1st regular season game. Then he got 13 minutes. After a few games of getting better, Yao dropped 20 pts on the Lakers. 2 games after that, he dropped 30 pts and 16 rebounds on the Mavs.

If Jordan Hill were to follow in Yao's rookie footsteps, he would come off the bench with 11 minutes. His minutes would increase if he dropped 20 pts on somebody. If he dropped 30 pts, then he would start.

Well i'm not really disagreeing with you at all. Just that some guys take their lack of mins, and frustrated they never develop well. I'm just saying some rookies are thrown out there, they do bad but they suck it up and start to play better. I don't think throwing him out there can be a bad thing. But he's going to be eased in because of our situation.

Overall, I want to play Hill right now. Simply because he can't be any worse than David Andersen defensively, and if Andersen is having a bad shooting night, he just simply shouldn't see the court.

If he can't defend Andersen and or score on chuckwagon in practice, he'll go through alot more frustration and loss of confidence against Dwight Howard. He needs to have the confidence to workover Andersen and chuckwagon first.

That's just some guys. Not every guy needs to build up confidence. Some guys just have it, some guys are TOO confident. Some of these guys don't ever lose confidence in their game, if they have a bad one it's just a anomaly to them and they will do better next time.

Either ways, if he gets thrown out there and someone destroys him and he loses confidence then he's not going to be a good player.

But one thing for sure, he can only learn the game with experience and not sitting on the bench. EVENTUALLY he's going to have to be thrown out there, and no matter how you try to ease him in, he's going to have nights where he fails.

If you ease him out there like Landry, Scola or Yao, after he has some success in the back up minutes. Then, it will be better for him.

Yeah he's going to be eased out there, i'm just saying it isn't necessarily a bad thing to throw guys out there into the fire to learn.

Yeah he may get matched up with Bosh and get destroyed...but he'll also learn something from it if he has any desire to improve his game.

Personally, I'm eager to see the Rockets put Hill in the game. His development will likely impact our draft, MLE usage, and potential trades in the offseason. And there's certain no time to work in next year, when Yao comes back and regular season wins become that much more meaningful.

It will take Adelman about a month or two before he even realizes that Jordan Hill is on the bench. He will sit there wasting away until coach sleepy wakes up and moves him to the d league. :)

If Adelman is not going to play him starting this week, then he should be moved to the dleague immediately.
