Letterman...he's perhaps my favorite tv personality entirely. He's a smart-ass and hilarious. The guy is comic genuis. Leno is a stand-up comedian who got a full time job after substituting for Carson.
No doubt, its Leno. Ben Curtis (?) was on last night. You guys know Ben. "Dude, you're getting a Dell!"
I can see why people find Leno funny, he has done some funny stuff, but Dave always seems to come up with something new and funny, that girl that went to the Olympics with Daves mom was hilarious. thas why I have to say Letterman
isn't jay one of the writers?? about eubanks, i think he's perfect for jay. i don't know why you say he laughs at everything jay says. i mean he laughs a lot, but that just seems to be who he is and is not a kiss ass move. also, when he says he doesn't get a joke and jay explains it, that's funny. the best is jay always making fun of him for not having a date or smoking mar1juana all the time. as far as taped skits, dave is far superior. far far far superior. there have been some great moments from dave on these. however, since those are not as integral as the monologue i still gotta go with jay.
It's not even close. Dave changed the way we approach and enjoy comedy, and Leno is a schmuck. I'd rather watch Christopher Lowell than Leno. Jaywalking? Please. He should call it, "Hey America! You're Stupid!"
Conan. I don't really like the other two, though IF I were to make a choice, probably Leno. Because Conan is on right after
I remember when Jay Leno was a frequent guest on Letterman's NBC show in the '80's. Leno used to be an edgier comic. Now I cannot tolerate him. I think Leno's success shows the power of kissing ass. Letterman's show is a bit watered down from his NBC days, but I like him much better than Leno. I agree with the last few posters, Conan O'Brien is the funniest person in late-night (besides when Ann "I'm to the Right of Genghis Khan" Coulter appears on Politically Incorrect).
Leno is horrible. If I laugh at anything the times I've seen it, its at the stupid people they talk to on the street. Letterman is better, but he's slipped quite a bit. Neither one of them can really hold up to the younger guys like Conan, Kilborn or Stewart. Of course, Carson will always be the King.
