No, it's actually, because I have too much time on my hands & also, because Oeilpere has disappeared again. I need some info nourishment or I'm going to get progressively worse on the Trade Accepted threads.
JayZ750, I thought about trading Mobley, but concluded that it would actually hurt the team. I think Cat is a better shooter & more of a goto guy than Carter. Quite frankly, I like this new look team. You've got a better passer in Payton, Lewis, who has a sweet stroke from outside, & Mohammed/James/Jackson that'll give us a much stronger inside game. If Griffin puts on some serious muscle this summer, that'd be a tough inside game. That's not even counting Payton's defense. I'd say that it's a nice mix of youth & experience. By the way, if anyone really cares, all the trades that I proposed work, cap wise, with the only assumption being, that Rashard would accept an $8 million first year contract. The total salary would put us just under the Luxury Tax, if there is one, with Payton's contract expiring after next year. C: Mohammed/James/#15(Marcus?) PF: Griffin/Jackson SF: Lewis/T-Mo/Walt (veteran's minimum) SG: Mobley/Peeler/Torres (IL) PG: Payton/McInnis/Brown(IL)
I bet you use to play with tinker toys alot when you were a kid. you should change your name to Mr. Tinker Train.
Hottoddie, i disagree, these trade ideas are bottled up creative energy looking for an outlet. btw, like your trade ideas, But man, if you'd transfer this crerative energy into developing some sort of free energy device, then......
I was thinking more along the lines of "Trader Bob", except that my name isn't Bob & "Trader Hottoddie" doesn't sound too good. Besides, I'd probably get confused. However, "Hottoddie's Wheelings & Dealings" doesn't sound too bad. But, it's just too long.
I'd like to agree with you, but I'm thinking that the bottled up energy is a sign that I need to get laid. Where is Angelina Jolie when you need her? Just give me some beer & Mexican food & I'll give you all the free natural gas you need.
That is the stupidest thing I have ever heard! First of all: Francis puts up better stats than Payton already and is six years younger. Second:With the number 5, we could get someone better than Shard(no offense to Shard lovers but I think we could). Third:With the 15, we can EASILY find someone better than James. Marcus is Already as good as James barring his slowness.
I love it when someone makes a comment like this, without verifing the numbers. Let's take a look at those stats, ummmkay? While you are correct about the age difference, there are some other glaring stats that stand out. Since Steve was dealing with Migraines all year, I'll use his numbers from the previous year & Payton's from this year. For instance: Payton had a 3.53/1 assist to turnover ratio, compared to Steve's 1.96/1 assist to turnover ratio. Payton plays defense, thus the nickname "The Glove". Francis's defense is suspect at best. Payton has missed just 5 games in 12 years. If we don't count last year, Francis has missed 7 games in his first 2 years. Yes, I know it's nitpicking, but if you include this year, it's alarming. The only 3 stats that Francis wins over Payton are rebounds, 3pt shooting, & FT%. When the starting PG is tied with the starting center in rebounds, that team has problems. Here's the links to Payton & Francis's career stats, if you'd like to reassess your position. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/gary_payton/index.html?nav=page http://www.nba.com/playerfile/steve_francis/index.html?nav=page If you could guarantee that we'd get someone that can put up numbers at least equal to Rashard, then I'd agree with you. However, Rashard has one thing that no #5 pick has, 4 years of NBA level experience & he's about the same age (22) as the kids coming out. His game has shown steady improvement & he's a 39-40% 3pt shooter from the NBA 3pt line. My post indicated that we'd get James through a trade & that we'd take Marcus at #15, if he's there. That'd give us Mohammed/James/Marcus at the center position. Ummmkay?
