Yes, his family is poor, and they encouraged him to stay. Imagine that. A poor family wanting their son to get as much education as he can. What a crazy concept huh?

Guess that proves poor people aren't as ignorant as you.

I reckon that you haven't taken a stroll through Baylor campus. Some prime time chicks at Baylor..at least when I attended. Plus, it's close to Dallas & Austin.

Was going to say the same thing. It's been about 5 years since I've been there, but the campus life was fantastic... I can't say the same for the city in general though. Spent most of my weekends in Dallas, though I do believe they have made a number of improvements since I left.

If they keep the age limit the same, then next years draft should be loaded!

More of a reason to tank for the rockets!!;)

I'm sure you could say the same for most schools in Texas. Being two hours from Austin and Dallas isn't a positive in my eyes though. Not that the two cities aren't great, but.. "come to Baylor! Great cities are only a 2 hour drive away!" Not the best recruiting pitch, IMO.

It's 100 miles so more like 1 hour and 15 minutes max to either city. Arlington/Ft Worth is even shorter. College Station is an hour away (had friends and fam there also) and Houston isn't too far either (about 2.5 hours or shorter if you live in north). Staying in town on the weekends wasn't the end of the world though. I mean 15k students isn't too shabby.

Pitching the basketball program to Dallas recruits should be easy. Football not so much because of TCU, Texas, and A&M obviously.

    11. Baylor – The Bears have two players (forwards Perry Jones and Quincy Miller) who are projected to be among the first 10 players selected in the NBA draft. Small forward Anthony Jones is a third-year starter, Quincy Acy is regarded as one of the country’s top sixth men and Baylor just signed the national junior college player of the year in point guard Pierre Jackson. In terms of pure talent, not many teams are better than the Bears, who should actually benefit from the departure of volume shooter LaceDarius Dunn.

Our PG play was abysmal last season. This Jackson kid looks good and the other transfer should be able to solidfy the position. AJ Walton could turn out fine if he practiced his jumper all offseason. Is Deuce penciled in as the starter at SG?

I'm excited about the upcoming season. Perry Jones is somewhat quiet on and off the court. Quincy Miller is not. Expect a ton of dunks

Nice! Thanks for the heads up :p

Looking forward to seeing players like Austin and Rose continue to build our program.

One of my friends got to see Baylor practice.

He said Quincy Miller is a beast and looks as good as Perry Jones. He also said that Pierre Jackson (Juco transfer) is a true PG with great athleticism, which we desperately lacked last season and that Brady Heslip (Boston College transfer) is a 3 point machine. He added that Heslip has one of the most beautiful strokes he has seen.

I'm pumped! I think Baylor has one of the deepest teams in the country.

I've seen Baylor ranked higher on preseason polls. Hopefully, we sweep A&M again. You guys had no answer for PJ last season. He's gotten better and now we have 2 players like that.

Gah, missed Moonlight Madness cause I went home for the break.

Really curious to see who's gonna be starting outside of Jones and Acy.
