Well this loss sucked. Surprised it was as close as it was seeing as how we were pretty cold, but at least we played some defense to make it so. I really expected us to finish 4th or so in the conference, not surpassing OU, UT, or KU, but it looks like Mizz is gonna be tough as well. I think we can realistically finish 9-7 still.
Face it, Baylor is just not that good. It's not the officiating, it wasn't the weather, you just got beat (again) by a superior basketball team. I don't think you ever recovered from the Texas A&M game. The Aggies beat you like a ten cent w****, and you apparently haven't been able to get over the shame of losing to a team that all of you were so certain you would surely dominate. The sad facts are, you've lose 4 out of your last 7, and all 3 in a row to the teams that matter the most on your schedule. Sure, you can beat average and below average teams in games that don't particularly matter to anyone, but when the big boys come calling in games that mean something it seems to be a much different story for Baylor. Bummer! I still think there is a chance you might make the NIT though. Good luck against Kansas next week!
Baylor is now 3-35 against ranked teams in the Drew era. Drew is a terrible coach. AMAZING recruiter, terrible coach. He has sick talent and can't win.
What's the deal with the 2005 National Championship on the court? Is that from the women's team? [snicker]
I still think we are a good team. Better than last year's. But we just aren't a Top 25 team. Luckily there's 10 games left to come back from this meh start in conference.
This is what I'm most afraid of. Because these teams don't look prepared for these games...and they're sloppy as hell.
Agreed. We come out so flat and ice cold in games like last night. No excuse for the players not to be excited about playing a ranked opponent at home. Where is the emotion? Drew's record against ranked teams is disturbing. Not really sure how much stock you can put in it since we had absolutely NOTHING when he was hired.
And that's the thing. This program was in shambles when he took over. If you just compare it to that, it's been remarkable. If you wanna look on the bright side, he's made Baylor fans expect that the Bears should be able to win this season and be competitive with the big boys...a drastic change from a mere few years ago. It's gonna be tough next season when our seniors graduate though. Where is that John Wall kid!?
If John Wall comes we will be really good, if he doesn't we will still be good. We will still have Lace,Quincy, and Tweety. Also Fred Ellis will develop more along with Epe(transfer from Michigan) who cant even play this year and plus we have the 25th ranked recruiting class coming in. Sure the loss of CJ, Henry, and Kevin will be a huge blow but with the continued development of our young players we will be fine.
Hopefully Ellis improves as you say because he hasn't played worth a damn lately. Drew's number priority (besides Wall) is to recruit a serviceable big man.
Sorry guys, really not trying to be a troll, just seems like you are a little over you head being in the Big 12. By the way, I didn't write the following, it's from Jason King from Yahoo Sports... "Talent is going to waste in Waco, where Baylor lost to Texas for the 23rd straight time Tuesday. Scott Drew is now 0-12 against the Longhorns and 0-10 against Oklahoma. And he’s dropped eight of his last nine games against Texas A&M." Maybe he is trolling? I don't know. Sounds bad though... Good luck against Kansas. They are very young, so you might have a chance!
