Please allow me to apologize for this clown. He apparently does not realize that Aggie basketball has its own thread.
Ironically, Drew is responsible for getting that talent, though. I'm willing to give him some rope. It's been a disappointing year...hopefully Drew has learned some things.
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basket...bYF?slug=jn-coaches030509&prov=yhoo&type=lgns #2 under the FIVE DISAPPOINTMENTS section of top coaches in the NCAA Scott Drew, Baylor – Great recruiter but completely overmatched as a Division I head coach. Most disappointing team in college basketball other than Notre Dame.
I know this post was made in like an unbelievably long time ago and its idiocy was probably pointed out by people with the slightest sense of understanding.. but a baylor fan calling Texas A&M a "terrible, terrible football PROGRAM" is like a bobcats fan saying the Rockets are a "horrible, horrible NBA team" because we hit a rough patch recently.. at least we have a damn program dude, we have history, we have tradition to back that up..what the heck do you y'all have up there? yes, we had a horrible terrible football team this year, but calling the entire program terrible is so absurd and stupid, especially coming from who I'm assuming to be a Baylor fan.. and lol @ the redneck card being pulled.. if my memory serves me right, the most recent nastiest case of racism was on the Baylor campus (the tree incident) .. on a side note, the heck does "sic em" mean? make em sick?
The "tree incident" was a completely made up event. CNN did a great job of embellishing it and there is most likely going to be a lawsuit. I think your school has a great program. I also think actions speak louder than words and there shouldn't be a need to talk mess if something that you represent is truly that great.
Come on, it's not nice to gloat. Yeah, Texas A&M is probably a lock. Hell, Bobby Knight just said as much on ESPN not 2 minutes ago. Must be true... Sure. The Aggies are playing really good basketball right now. We just seem to keep winning games. Over and over and over again and again and again. Big games. Games people care about. Games on national TV! But that isn't any reason to gloat. Especially at the expense of our good friends from Waco... Hang in there Bears. The NIT might be just your huckleberry! Sic 'em! By the way... I know I promised not to come back, but I couldn't let that last guy come in here and stir the pot without calling him out on it. I've got your back, Bear fans! Like the caring big brother who protects his r****ded little brother on the playground, you can count on my being there for you when you're being picked on or are victims of malicious gloating. But I did break a promise, and that makes me feel bad. So... Goodbye once more!!!
it's nice to be classy (even though it's backhanded classiness on your part lol). but considering the cheap shots that were taken at our beloved university in this thread, I don't think showing class is the best response.. but then again, i consider the fact that it's out of pure jealousy, and I recall the fact that these people get to wake up tomorrow in Waco, Texas, far far away from any form of human civilization (H-town is only an hour drive from C-stat).. but hey, our Ags are a lock for the big dance now, and their basketball team -the only thing they've ever had- sucks hard.. so no problem there..
Waco is 3 hours away from Houston, and one and a half fromm Dallas and Austin. So...you're wrong there. But you're right about us sucking this year, sadly. But we do have baseball and I can't wait for that to get into full swing. So pumped!
lol your talking bad about Waco after all the recent events in CS? We don't have to worry about helicopters flying into our face here, students shooting eachother, consuming other schools after natural disasters, man-cheerleaders, etc. Not to mention its far easier to be accepted into A&M, they will pretty much take anyone these days.
Baylor is easier to get into. Baylor shoots its own students (basketball team). I am not sure what the natural disaster thing is about, you mean offering shelter to people after Katrina?
yeah, apparently this dipstick (no offense) considers providing housing to natural disaster refugees/students (Galveston A&M) a bad thing, goes on to show how classy they are.. oh, and the helicopter incident makes us vulnerable for cheap shots! omg! we're having drills to train those who will go on and defend our country when needed (the corps/army), and it's really cheap of you to make fun of that incident because innocent lives were lost.. and the biggest of em all, the difficulty of acceptance LOL! we're one of 3 tier-I schools in Texas: and sorry to break it to you but Baylor isn't one of the other two, oh, and by they way, we don't pay 30k to get our excellent tier-I education like you guys do.. Ryan Bowen MVP:
First off, you guys are ignoring figures that clearly show a nearly 30% higher acceptance rate for A&M over Baylor. And they didn't provide anything free to Galveston students because those people had already paid their tuition and housing. It was that or REFUND people's money. One of my good friends was one of these people. How many people go there now anyway? 50k, 75k, 100k?? A school with one of the largest number of undergrads in the US would never be considered 'difficult' to get into lol And as far as T1 goes, Baylor made that accomplishment a long time ago after it entered the Big 12. Real T1 schools (see: Harvard, Yale) have an endowment of at least a billion dollars. Baylor has this. A&M's is barely around $200 million. And my tuition isn't near anywhere what you quoted. I have grants and scholarships that are available to any student here, and I don't pump out straight-A's either. But if you want to measure success by the number of Chick-Fila's you have on campus, be my guest- you win!
lol Ryan Bowen MVP, don't take it personally.. I understand why you're angry.. I definitely understand that it's really difficult for you to attend a mediocre at best University that doesn't even come close to the big 3 of Texas (us, UT, and Rice).. I understand your envy bro, it's all good.. I hope some small scale company will feel bad for you and hire you after I get my big fat Chevron contract (what do you know? they hire more Aggies than anyone else in the entire South).. the only positive thing for y'all was the b-ball team, and now that we own that crappy team of yours, you're trying to find a way to compensate for your school's miserable reputation.. so you pull the red neck card (which I countered by mentioning the little tree incident that dominated national news for ever), then you go on to ignorantly belittle our great institution by citing how "easy it is" to get in, while completely ignoring the stuff that matters, u know, like our ~80% acceptance rate to med schools upon graduating, or our impressive employment rate within 6 months of graduation.. I think I'm through with this, have fun in Waco, and I hope someday you get your GPA up and you successfully transfer to one of the 3 tier-I schools in Texas.. furthermore, I hope you don't drop out once you transfer to a tier-I school, you know, considering how REAL courses are taught there.. http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archives/individual/2007_08/011908.php
I don't even know where to start with ryanmvp.... So since you hate A&M and your blind hatred can't let you see that it is a good school, do you think the University of Texas is easy to get into as well? Easier to get into than Baylor?! After all, it also has one of the largest number of undergrads as well...
I never said A&M was a bad school. I originally intended to go there until Baylor offered me a scholarship and I read up on everything they're doing to be one of the top schools in the state (Baylor vision 2012). Plus the girls here are insanely hot.
