Ummm..the stats I cited to were PRE-BIG XII. Not after it. They were what the committee was looking at for the 3 years prior to the formation of the new conference.

And conferences like having a private school in because (from my limited understanding) having one private school in a conference means they can keep books closed if they wish.

There is no question that BU will have a hard time competing with UT and A&M. Just as Vandy has that trouble in the SEC...but they're not going anywhere, either. We'll take our successes as they come. I'm guessing we'll have a 2 year win streak vs. your Aggies on the gridiron. And we're playing right on par with them in hoops, so things are looking ok...unless you think the Aggies are in danger of being removed from the Big XII as well. If competing with OU is the criteria, you're screwed.

Whats yalls status? I think the Big 12 is coming off weak. It looks like...
    OU
    Mizzou
    Kansas
    Texas

will all be in, maybe even in that order.
If TAMU beats Baylor again I think yall are done. No chance. Logically TAMU is already eliminated IMO. -assuming things will play out like I think-

Is there a consensus that there will be a 5th Big 12 team in the tourney? Right now Kansas State is probably that team?

I don't think BU is making the tourney. I seriously doubt it. UT is on the bubble at this point. It is entirely possible we're talking about just 3 teams making the tourney. UT's win tonight helped, though...and I'm really hoping they make it.

We have to shoot 50% or better to have a reasonable chance.

    That isn't likely.

I'm not sure that OU isn't the best team in the country right now. I think they may very well be.

BU is going to have to play its best game of the season and then some to win this game. They're going to have to eliminate the old mistakes they make virtually every game, particularly in the final 3 minutes or so. Of last time, they were down by about 20 in the final 3 minutes.

I want to believe they will win...and I'll certainly be rooting for it....but I'll be really surprised if they do.

I know man, the final 5 minutes of the last 3 games have absolutely killed us.. Especially versus UT...The guys just arent playing well under the pressure but CJ sorta came out of his slump so maybe he will get his stroke back fully tonight. We need to go at Griffin early and try to get him in foul trouble. One of my friends is a student manager and he told me that Drew has really been pushing the poor shot selection at the end of games so we will see if that changes tonight. Im very excited for the game tonight though, I just have a really good feeling..If yall watch the game Ill be the guy with the colored mask on..They showed me in the KU game..

OU gets 30th straight win over Baylor

By GUERIN EMIG World Sports Writer

WACO, Texas — Oklahoma continued its lifetime mastery of Baylor Wednesday night with a 78-63 victory over the Bears.

The Sooners have won 30 straight over Baylor, dating back to the time Dave Bliss coached OU, and have never lost to the Bears in Big 12 play...

    Ouch. 30 in a row?

    Oh well.

    Better luck next time...

A&M Baylor Question (I am not flaming like Hank):

Taking into consideration the fact that Baylor isn't exactly shy about launching 3s, I was wondering if their 6 game skid had anything to do with 3-point percentages...

    First 4 games (3-1)
    vs. TTU 9-27 33.3%
    @ A&M 5-16 31.3%
    vs. OSU 12-27 44.4%
    @ KSU 13-22 59.1%
    TOTAL 39-92 42.4%

    Last 6 games (0-6)
    @ OU 12-33 36.4%
    vs. UT 6-20 30.0%
    @ MU 6-23 26.1%
    vs. KU 8-22 36.4%
    @ TTU 10-26 38.5%
    vs. OU 5-26 19.2%
    TOTAL 47-150 31.3%

11% drop compared to the first four Big XII games

    Also interesting:
    * Home 3-pointers: 40-122 32.8%
    * Away 3-pointers: 46-120 38.3%
    * In the last match-up vs. A&M, Baylor on shot 16 3s, which is 8 below their Big XII average of 24 per game.

Anyway, not total rocket science here, but thought this was interesting. I think putting the clamps down on the perimeter and limiting their 3-point opportunities is something to think about. Not sure if that was Turge's strategy last time, but I think daring Baylor's big men to beat us is the way to go. Although they've been cold from 3 as of late, and even though they shoot a lower 3-point % at home, I'd hate to give them the opprotunity to catch fire from deep.

    Thoughts?

My thought is that BU needs to recruit more inside presence.

I don't get why Hank is in here...I guess he still has some troll left in him. Shouldn't there be a rule against that? I thought he was gone.

    Not a chance.

Why would I? Nothing has changed. You won a close game that you were supposed to win.

    Congratulations!

The blind squirrel finally found a nut...

    But seriously...

I was very impressed with baylor tonight. Not because of your basketball team, per se, but because your fans actually managed to not throw garbage all over the court this year.

Good game. See you in the NIT.
