Ouch, yeah, I can see how that would come across badly. I don't know much about A&M bball history - how many wins does Turgeon have and how many does Shelby have? If we're talking a 70 or 80 win different, that's a really bad quote. If we're talking about 400 wins, then I can how it would be more of a totally harmless thing.
chill out he was talking about how the previous coach was at A&M for 28 years explaining why he would not be able to top him in wins they were talking about it today on the Liucci show no big deal
You can say it was not a big deal, but if you watched the live interview and what the commentators said afterwards, it came across terribly, and is not going to help in recruiting at all. Regardless of that point, Turge has complained and whined about attendance to the point that it is beginning to hurt us. He needs to be aware of his surroundings and quit complaining.
High school kids don't pay attention to press conferences. I wouldn't have even known about this stuff if y'all didn't post this. Unless other schools specifically bring up these things it'll just blow over when it comes to recruiting.
Well this was not a press conference, it was live from the ESPN reporter while walking off the court. And if you don't think other schools wont bring something like this up to kids they are competing with A&M for you are kidding yourself. Regardless of what it was, that interview made him look like he is very unhappy at A&M even if it was a "heat of the moment" type thing. He needs to have more composure as a head coach.
This. Shelby Metcalf was the coach for an eternity. I seriously doubt Turgeon will be coaching in 20 years. He seems to be the type that will retire fairly young to spend time with his family and enjoy his life.

Is anyone else shocked that this is an NCAA tournament team? Has to be the worst offense for any A&M team in the tournament years and that includes BCG's ultra-defensive teams. We have one decent offensive player in Khris Middleton and he basically fell off a cliff after the Missouri game. Everyone else has their moments, but they are far and few between. I'm thinking Turner is going to be a huge addition to this team next year and if Branch can at least keep the defense honest at the PG spot, we will be much better offensively. This is getting hard to watch right now though.
very shocked this was def supposed to be a down year so just making the tournament is truely amazing so whatever happens this season is just gravy because im suprised they actually won 20 plus games.. but damn is there a worst starting point guard in the history of college bball then dash lol
Loubeau has had some very productive games lately, as has Walkup. Middleton is still averaging over 14 ppg. Last night was a putrid effort offensively, but it isn't really all that bad.
I was pretty down on the team during the losing streak, but after they bounced back I've been pretty impressed with their resilience. No high hopes for the this year..just going to enjoy it and hope they can get a win or two in the tourney and come back stronger next season.
No doubt about that ... I think making the tourney is a big credit to this team. They had some lousy games, but they were able to pull out all the games they should have won and a few that they shouldn't have. If this team wins a tourney game, then Turgeon has more than done his job with these guys this year as he has gotten them to win with true grit on multiple occasions. Would love to see a better offense, but without anyone that can penetrate the defense, I think we may have to wait until next year for that and continue to win on 2nd chance points against smaller teams. Any bigger teams are just going to be very hard for us to beat.
Ags made a good move in getting out of the Hawaii tourney and jumping into the 2K Sports Classic at MSG with a much better field. Would love to make it to NYC for this. http://www.aggieathletics.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/030811aad.html Next year could be a really good year if Roberson continues to develop as well as he has lately and adding in Turner and Branch in the backcourt. Not sure how much to expect of Jordan Green in his first year at this point.
ok guys, wtf just happened tonight? Who were those impostures wearing aggie uniforms and straight balling?
There are high school teams that could light up Mizzou for 80+, at this point. It's that bad. Other than Tech and maybe Baylor, I don't think there's a single team in the conference that we could beat today. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind seeing you guys make a run in the tourney... but wait until you play another team before judging too much. Trust me.
