I like what I see so far. Score is tight, but only cause Collins has made a couple of ridiculous threes. Ags are getting good shots and ball movement is crisp. Sloan does as good a job as I've seen any guard do all year at using his body to shield Aldrich and creating space to make plays in the lane. That said, Davis has got to stop trying to create 1 on 1 against Aldrich. It's like watching a trainwreck, you know exactly what's going to happen every time...
If Davis can control himself on the offensive end we can win this game. It would be massive for our seeding as I'd love to somehow make it to a 4 seed and avoid the 5-12 curse. KU isn't playing well though (some due to the A&M defense) and we are only up by 3. Need to keep the defensive pressure up and absolutely cannot go on a drought on offense like we tend to do (which is what cost us in our last game against KU and almost caused us to lose to Nebraska). P.S. I really miss Dash's defense on Sharon Collins. He really had him bottled up that game we played them last time.
... And here is the usual 2nd half draught ... Can't let this last long or it is over Edit: And we've been stuck on 57 for about 7 minutes while KU has scored 16 straight points I believe
Kansas is the number one team for a reason... very winnable game though... Kansas looked really vulnerable...
I do not understand why this team goes brain dead in the second half against KU and jacks up bad 3 after bad 3. It is almost like we decided to take all the things we did well in the first half and put them on the proverbial shelf. It is mind boggling.
Simple, 2/3 zone just kills this team. At the 10 min mark when ku went to the zone i was like game time. I dont understand why teams dont just play the 2/3 against us all the time. Oklahoma state played it and got back into a game with it, they went away from it and we pulled away.
Turgeon has stated that there are some things that he saw that he needs to work on, but during the season they had to get ready for games with little time. He plans on spending this week tending to those things. I suspect dealing with a 2/3 zone tops that list.
Best possible situation for the Aggies. Assuming they win their first round, they get either a #13 seed or a #4 seed in total free fall. Then they get to go to Houston for the Sweet 16 game.
Wow, I believe we have a great chance of making it to the sweet 16. If we beat Utah St., and Purdue beats Siena, we get to play Purdue without Hummel, which is a great matchup. That would put us in Houston. I like our chances.
Wow ... we sure lucked out in that Draw ... Gotta make the most of it. Utah St is dangerous so they better not look past them.
How crazy would it be if both Baylor and A&M made it to the Elite 8 and played each other. Its very possible with both teams draws. The atmosphere would be crazy!
It is highly improbable that A&M would beat either Duke or Louisville, so I don't think it will happen. If it did, it would likely be decided by 7 points one way or the other. It would be a dandy for sure.
On my bracket, I have A&M beating Duke. The aggies will be playing in Houston so I guess my thinking is that that will be to the aggies' advantage. I have Baylor in the Final 4.
Not a bad call. You never know how a team will match up against a team they are unfamiliar with...but I just cannot envision a scenario in which we bear Duke. Then again, I did not think we would play Kansas so close the first time we played them in College Station. Anything can happen in March, but I think your scenario is very, very likely what will happen.
Duke is way overrated and beatable in Houston by A&M or Baylor. Not saying it is going to happen, but an A&M vs Baylor matchup in the elite eight is a real possibility.
