Thought yall had that and I was rooting for yall but that last 5 or so minutes Kansas just went to another level. It was a great effort by the Ags though.

god awful play calling down the stretch. 2 back to back pressured 3 pointers by 2 awful shooters BJ (sadly) and Dash. Davis just straight up SUCKED tonight. Really makes me sad considering how good he plays sometimes.

I'm livid right now. Really pissed. I didn't expect us to win at all, but that ending was B.S. The thing I hate the most in basketball is stupidity, and we were the epitome of stupidity down the stretch (BD did a good job epitomizing stupidity through out the game though).

Some blame goes to the players too. On the possession that effectively ended the game (down 57-54, 50 seconds), at least two guys had pretty good looks at threes that could've tied it. They were just far too hesitant and didn't even give themselves a chance.

Poor perimeter shooting, poor shot selection, poor rebounding down the stretch and poor FT shooting throughout turned a program changing upset into a close loss.

I think that we showed the nation that we belong though. Tough, gritty performance.

I know I'm echoing what every one here has said, but after that 1 made three by dash, we completely went away from the post game. Davis and Loubeau carried the team on offense in the 2nd half and we went away from them.

It was a good game, but when you miss the few FT's you get and the put-backs/2nd chance opportunities we normally make, your not going to beat Kansas.

I hope this helps some of the nations coaches/press see we should be ranked higher. Until this week, we were the best RPI/SOS team not ranked and even now we should be higher than 23/24.

Ag's need to keep this going though. We should be able to get at least the No. 3 seed for the Big 12 Tourney with how Texas has been playing.

Probably the ugliest game of the year, but a road win in the Big 12 is still nice. I think that officially puts the Ags in the tourney as a lock as 8-8 in the B12 deserves a bid.

Got 4 more games left to play for seeding ... gonna have to play better than they played today to get another W.

Good game today, but it was too painful to watch. I absolutely LOVE our toughness. BCG might have left us, but the toughness he instilled in us seems to have stayed.

I love Sloan so damn much. I am very saddened that this is his last year with us. Just amazing to watch, absolutely amazing. What a role model. I love Sloan.

Bryan Davis on the other hand, I appreciate what he's done for us, but the guy severely lacks in the brains department. He might be the most boneheaded player I have ever seen. But his effort is great and although I get really frustrated with him sometimes (a lot of times), I still appreciate him.

Now on to the last point. I am NOT looking forward to our future after Sloan (and even Davis) leave. I hate, yes, hate, our back court combination of BJ and Dash. I can't trust either of them, and watching them handling the ball drastically increases my risk of heart disease. The athletic guys we brought in are cool. But I don't see them becoming anything more than mediocre at best. Middleton just doesn't annoys me, awful decision maker. I know he's a fish, but damn the guy lacks the most basic fundamentals of the game of basketball. Turner has shown flashes, but he's not that good either. Hibbert is just plain awful (although he DID score last game!).

I like Turg, I like the job he's done with the team, I like the tough mentality he beats into the player. However, I doubt him in 2 areas: recruiting and coaching down the stretch. It's too early to judge the players he brought in, but as I explained earlier, I'm not very optimistic about them. And coaching down the stretch has been absolutely AWFUL as of late.

What was the purpose of taking our last timeout between the Baylor free throws? why not wait until we see if they hit it or not, and then design a play accordingly AND advance the ball to midcourt in case you want to go for a quick two? in fact, why not go for a quick 2 anyway, considering how awful we are at shooting 3's?

I'll take a split with the Bears this year ... I still saying making the tourney this year is an accomplishment for this team with what we lost and they have fare exceeded my expectations.

You say this about a guy who has gotten more than one double double in a critical game. A guy who, when he is not in the game, we are markedly worse.

Dash, until his injury, was one of the better ball handlers in the Big XII. He also had developed a skill for driving the lane and had developed an outside shot. There is no reason to believe that Dash will not continue to improve this offseason once his injury heals.

As for Holmes, this season has been a aberration for him. He has been a much better shooter and scorer the last two years. He likely will improve.

If you are going to completely judge Hibbert and Middleton based on their fish year, you must not have had any confidence in Acie Law or Sloan their first year as college players. If they work hard in the offseason, you should see significant improvement from them next year.

He has only been playing for 2 months. You might want to allow him to adjust to the college game and the system before writing him off. Most "experts" I have heard over the last 6 weeks or so have said that he is expected to be a very good player for us the next couple of years.

Most analysts expected this year to be a down year for A&M and that we would be much better next year. Most people "in the know" think that Turge has recruited quite well.

Keep this in mind. This team has performed well above what anybody expected. You don't do that without good coaching.

You were down by two with less than 10 seconds remaining. Going for a quick 2 would have been a sure fire way to get the "L." Taking a 3 was the only chance we had.

Actually, we were down by 3 (maybe that is what you meant). I think going for the first good shot would have been the right decision. We don't seem to ever get great shots at the end of halves, but I'm not sure we have the personnel for that and I didn't think it was a horrible look. They set the pick up top and Sloan had a decent look. As a coach, Turge just can't win. I'm perfectly happy with what he has done with this team.

Good win for the Aggies. Texas always play bad at Reed.

you guys think any of our players could be possible draft picks?
since acie we really havent had much of a star in lottery, and deAndre messed that up.

I think Sloan might very well go in the 2nd round. And honestly, I would love for the Rockets to get him. He is so underrated it's ridiculous. People look at his ugly hitch on that shot and at his untimely turn overs and judge him by that, but there's so much talent laying underneath the surface. The guy has the body of a line backer and the strength of a bull, he has that sweet floater in the lane, he can create his own shot, can drive to the basket and finish strong, and can pass it with the best of them. His jump shot is hella questionable, but boy does he hit it with consistency or what?

Of course, all of that means nothing since we don't know how it would translate to the NBA, but I wouldn't mind taking him in the second round and seeing how he does in summer league etc. Boy, a back court of Lowry/Sloan would bully any other back court in the NBA.

To be honest I have more faith in Sloan's ability in the NBA than I ever did for Acie. I knew he was going to be a mistake for whoever took him in the lottery. I think Sloan can be a decent role player on a team and the guys has made drastic improvement every single year in College. I think he is still improving.

I basically see Sloan as being the SG version of Lowry, which is what you just described. I'm not too sure if that would be good for the Rockets to have a SG in that mold. You would prefer to have a SG who is a bit better shooter, passer, defender, etc. He has shown he can be above average at these, especially since Roland got injured. However, with being undersized in the NBA and increase in opponent metrics, I wonder how he would fare. Maybe when on a team where he is not the go-to scorer, like in the NBA, he would get cleaner looks to work on his shot as well as improve and show his all-around game more.

For him, even though he may do well in the tournament, I just do not see him being drafted. I would think workouts would favor players with better metrics and potential. Also with the "economic issues" and salary cap dropping, I see most teams using their 2nd round picks to draft Euro's or younger players that will be stashed overseas. Hopefully, then we could get him to our Summer League and then the Vipers, but we'll see.
