I do hate to point this out, but it is 2009. Sigh, I know, I know, there are Aggie jokes for a reason. Luckily most Aggies have a good sense of humor. ;)

Ziggy, the best play of that game was when the punter took the punt that was going to be blocked and broke like 6 tackles to get 15 yards and 1st down. I stll think that has been my favorite aggie play since I went to A&M.

The Aggies looked great today against Iowa St. Maybe we are peaking at the right time.

The Nebraska game has given our guys confidence. I have not seen A&M play with poise and confidence in a long time.

Dash Harris has seemed to break out of his shell in the last couple of games. If he can become a more confident shooter to go along with his ball handling skills, we will have a very good PG.

Phew! That was a stressful game to watch, but the guys came through when they needed to again. I think we need to win 1 of the next 2 games and we are in. It'd be nice to get at least 2 out of the next 3 to be safe.

RPI is 35 now I believe. Yep, it's pretty much win 1 more game to stamp us for the tournament. Some big bubble teams losing last night was great: Miami, Kentucky, and UAB.

    I think its...
OU, Kansas, Mizzou, UT, OSU right now...
I don't know if they would send 6 teams from the Big 12... Still may have to beat Mizzou. Or at least 2 tourney wins. Which will be tough. I'd rather just beat Mizzou and sleep at night.

With all the bubbles that have popped recently, I think we are in good shape with one more win. BUT a win against Mizzou or Two in the tourney would be nice!

While A&M could get in right now, I would still label the Mizzou game as a must-win. You never know with this selection committee. With the perception of our conference being mediocre, I don't see it getting 6 teams in. I bet a school like Kentucky will get the benefit of the doubt, as well as Big East, ACC bubble teams.

Of course, the ESPN guys last night said they thought the Big XII could get 7 teams in. It wouldn't be a first, but it would be very rare.

I think the Big XII gets 6 in.

    Oklahoma
    Texas
    Kansas
    Mizzou
    OSU
    A&M

A&M's position has improved as those wins over Zona and LSU looked better and better. Honestly, I think they are in right now, and I agree that one more win would be helpful. Conversely, I think Kentucky is done, done, done. Unless they win their conference tourney, that lost to Georgia toasted them.

Even though I don't like the Aggies, I think they'd represented themselves reasonably well in recent NCAA tourneys. Not that that is a criterion for tourney selection, but I'm sure that it might creep into the minds of committee members. Besides, the SEC is way down this year.

While it shouldn't technically help (recent tourney history), I think it has to creep into the committee members' minds. They don't want to pick bubble duds, and A&M has been on the bubble 2 out of the last 3 years and have represented strong.

3 yrs ago, definitively beat a higher seeded Syracuse, then lost to a higher seeded LSU in the 2nd rd by 1pt on a last second shot.

2 yrs ago, highly seeded and beat Louisville in Kentucky to reach the sweet 16 where the Aggies lost by 1pt to Memphis (Acie Law missed a potential game winning layup).

Last year, upset BYU, then lost to #2 UCLA by 2pts and was also clearly fouled on a potential game tying shot, but no call was made.

So, 2nd Rd, sweet 16, 2nd Rd, and all losses by 2pts or less...I say they really overachieved in relation to the expectations of the seedings they've been getting. Emotionally, they deserve bubble preference.

That was the best half of basketball I've seen any team play in a long, long time. As a Missouri fan, I can't even really complain that much. There's not much you can do when the other team makes literally every shot it takes.

I'd be very surprised if you don't win at least one (NCAA) tourney game.

What a first half!!! Gotta keep it up and lock up that bid. The conference tourney will just determine how high we get seeded if we can pull this out!

Wow, what a 2nd half by Mizzou! I think they shot better than the Ags in the 1st half. Luckily we played better than in the 2nd half than Mizzou's 1st half so we were able to take the game.

That should be enough to get the Ags into the tourney no matter what IMO and that would make 4 years in a row. There are not too many teams that can say that and still amazing after that 0-16 year. Gotta love it!

Unless OSU beats OU, it looks like we'll be seeing you again on Thursday night. I have a lot of respect for the Ags, but I'd be stunned if we lose that one. Revenge factor + not in College Station + no way in the world A&M shoots 62% from the field again.

But like you said, y'all are definitely in the tournament even if you lose that game. No question about it.

Arizona beats that by a mile.

24 (probably 25 now) straight years of tourney appearances.

Tell me about it. I love how he didn't even bother acknowledging the much softer schedule he had at the end of the season, which is why they're a lock for the tournament.
