I think you do have to send a strong message, otherwise, someone smarter than Trump sees what he's done, does it better, then what?

I hope Congress does not waste any time on Trump after he is out - let the courts and local magistrates deal with any malfeasance.

    You haven't been paying attention.

There are multiple pending legal battles for Trump that the state of NY can indict him for. The federal government might have a case also with the IRS vs Trump. Hence the audit which is for a 77 million dollar tax refund he potentially illegally obtained. In NY, his illegal charity might result in an indictment. There are other legal challenges for Trump to overcome. The crimes Trump is safe from being indicted with are mostly the crimes he commited as president such as obstruction of justice. That's going to require the Biden adminstration to act with the DOJ and there is tradition in this country for presidential adminstrations to ignore the illegal activities of the prior adminstration. Joe Biden will probably barely ever mention Trump's name during his presidency.

    Treasonous acts cannot be overlooked.

No overlooking or forgiveness or else it is going to embolden other candidates looking to do the same, whichever party they are from.

We have to make it loud an clear that you cannot compromise our system and it will NOT be tolerated.

He broke some of these laws so blatantly. There needs to be some punishment so others don't do it in the future. I mean he had secret service folks staying at his hotel and charging those crazy rates. He was using airforce 1 to campaign. He was putting his kids in charge of stuff they really weren't qualified for. He on national TV called for Russia to help him out in the election. The republican's are complaining about Hunter's laptop which they have had for a year and not gotten anything out off and you have a president who is clearly profiting off having SS folks staying at his hotel.

Is there? Trump went after his predecessor, his 2016 opponent and his 2020 opponent.

Trump is a criminal but not a criminal mastermind. The DOJ probably has a very long list to investigate that should lead to easy convictions.

Biden will have to make decisions wrt Trump convictions like to pardon, commute or switch prison terms to parole.

This should be a low priority for the Biden DOJ. Junior staffers should be able to walk these cases through.

Biden shouldn't say anything about it. It's not his job to update us on that. Trump is the fascist who vocally expresses investigations for his political rivals. The system will do its thing without Biden. People lose trust in the system when the political rival gets involved in the investigation.

FWIW Biden has explicitly stated publicly many times that he does not want to direct his DOJ into who gets investigated.

Biden's DOJ will use its own discretion in determining whether to investigate Trump or not.

If there's a pardon I will be ****ing pissed. This guy is a criminal and he belongs in prison. He should be investigated for all the obstruction of justice charges, the Ukraine quid pro quo, the inviting of Russian hacking, and whatever other bullshit he's been cooking up with Putin, the sexual assaults, the financial fraud, emoluments, and whatever the hell else pops up and you know it will. Trump should be deposed under oath so he can lie his ass off on the record and be charged with half a million counts of perjury.

A pardon of Trump would be business as usual bullshit Washington corruption and it invites, as the dude on the video notes, another attempt at turning our country towards totalitarianism.
