It's a nice thought, but the Pacers would never give up Tinsley or Artest after having the record they do. They are the best team in the east right now.

Jamal Tinlsey doesn't seem worth it to me. He can't shoot and his assists are down this year. I wouldn't mind getting rid of Kenny. To me, he seems like the most selfish player on the team. He always tries to take it to the hole against 2 or 3 guys and he takes ill advised threes.

Anyways, we lost this game tonight because the Rocks were taking too many three pointers instead of pounding it inside. Rudy should have started Yao and Steve in the 4th to keep the momentum on our side. Also, that fool Najera really did a number on Ming by making it damn near impossible for him to get position in the post.

This is painfully true. We have it in our hearts for our underdogs, but they're underdogs for a reason. Kenny is strong, but there is no way he should get the minutes he gets. I never thought Mo would fit in the way he does. This summer I thought that Jeff was looney when he suggested that Kenny is the odd man out. Kenny is definitely the odd man out.

Cuttino, what can you say... I respect his heart when the shots are falling. But he looks awfully short when the shots aren't falling.

All of these comments hurt because they're true.

In Mobley's defense, he has contributed elsewhere. Bravo for him, it looks as if he can read the writing on the wall, since he has started contributing in other ways. But, as much as I love Cuttino in that 'wishing the underdog good' way... I might actually contemplate a move for a taller guard.

Incidentally, I don't think you get Artest for Mobley. It's not the proper chemistry trade. Artest will probably be the next guy to get a quad double... but a 250 lb shooting guard isn't going to work in the West. Besides, even though he is a great defender... he is 1/100th of the offensive player that Mobley is. And, he has just as many delusions of grandeur. I've seen him make some offensive plays that would frustrate me were I a Pacers fan.

I think if say 12/4/4 isn't a strong enough contribution from Mobes... you dare big by acquiring Crawford. A taller... pure ball handler would be a serious asset for this team. If you're not going to get a real point guard... there's no point in trading him.

Then again, since there's no way in hell that Mobley will be traded from this team... I think that it is time we got used to the idea of Kenny leaving with Cato or Cato leaving with Moochie. I thought that Cato would be the perfect compliment to Ming... but one gets the idea that Cato didn't call in on some of those absences, b/c he's not getting jack from Rudy right now.

Didn't Artest just sign a big contract with Indiana? He couldn't be traded until January if that's the case. I'm thankful that Rockets management isn't trying to trade Mobley because breaking up this backcourt is a huge mistake, especially considering the time it took to build chemistry as it is now. Mobley had 4 assist tonight, so he's passing the ball. And he only had a few turnovers. I'm just happy the GM isn't thinking this way because breaking this team up is am mistake, Mobley fits perfectly fine with this team. Throwing shooters and slashers on a team with a dominant big man is what won the Rockets championships in the mid-90s. It's just crazy, everybody likes the backcourt of Mobley and Francis but Rockets fans themselves. I don't think Rockets fans realize what they have, but they will when this backcourt guides this team into the playoffs. 4 assist and 6 rebounds for Mobley tonight. And Tinsley isn't coming off the bench, Francis, I'm guessing, doesn't want to move to 2-guard. I know people are saying that Francis and Ming are the future of the Rockets, but Rockets management seems to think Mobley is to, they signed him to a long contract. This team will be fine, and as said before, Ming, Cat and Francis are the nucleus of this team along with Griffin. We have one of the Top 3 backcourts in the NBA thank god the people who matter know this.

Exactly, he is saying what Mobley thinks. But since it is quite obvious that no one outside of Mobley knows what he is thinking, don't you think it is safe to assume that Clutch was stating his opinion of what Mobley was thinking? In other words, what Clutch thought Mobley was thinking? It just seems like an odd thing to have a problem with when it is pretty apparent that Clutch doesn't really believe he can read Mobley's thoughts.

It's time for Mobley and KT to go. These two players overall styles as ballhogs is just hurting the team. Now steve is a ballhog too, but he brings much more to the table than Mobley and KT put together. I just don't see the Rockets going anywhere with Mobley and KT continuing to have major roles on this team.

I know that's what he meant. But that's how rumors get started, and I just don't want to see tons of fans who don't see the Rockets or read about them assume that that is a true statement. I'm probably overreacting, but it's just because I really disagree with that sentiment... :(

No offense but you people wanting to trade Cat after one bad game suck. Clutch claims he is immune to "knee-jerk" reactions, but happens to mention this silly trade after Cuttino's worst game in about 2-3 years.

The guy took only EIGHT freakin shots today. He was trying to move the ball around fairly well today. Not all of his shots were crazy. Yeah about 2-3 could be classified crazy, but boo freakin hoo. He got lit up by an Olympian today and big freakin deal about that as well. Finley was on fire today and crap happens. To me it seems like Cat was required to help out defensively in the paint which required Finely to be wide open sometimes.

Maybe you guys dont remember last year, but I do. This is the same guy that in the second half was one of the top players in the game. He was regularly dropping 25-30 points at a high shooting percentage.

If you are going to complaing about his defense then dont overlook Francis either. Francis could not keep Nash in front of him if his life depended on it. At least Cat is trying to play defense. I cant even say that about Francis.

Instead of thinking up retarted trade ideas why not give this team more then 10 games to develop some chemistry? Teams like Dallas and Sacramento were not built overnight.

Seems like some of you actually hope Cuttino has a bad game so everyone can start ragging on the poor guy. He has never claimed he was a superstar. All he has ever stated was that he wants to be an All-Star. What a selfish ass guy! He even accepted a contract way below market value. I dont think a player who thinks he is a superstar would have accepted that.

Screw Ron Artest and Jamal Tinsley and any other player. I believe in Cuttino and by the end of this season most of you dorks will be eating your words.

Thee way Artest is playing, I think it would require much more than Cat.

He's destroying teams at the moment with his D...AND getting 20 points some nights. That's worth more than Cat.

I don't think this is based on one game...I think it's based on improving the Rockets for the whole season and beyond.

How about we trade Moochie, Rice & whatever scrubs for Najara (?).

Could you imagine if he was a Rocket? Oh thats right, he was a Rocket for a few minutes. Then we traded him for Dan Langhi and a future 2nd round pick.

I don't think trading Cuttino would be a good idea when we have enough talent that we could trade someone else to get what we want. Cuttino can come off the bench and be 6th man of the year doing what he is good at, and someone else can start who is better chemistry-wise like Artest. I agree that Kenny is one of the players who could be used, but the others players who have trade value and are replaceable include Nachbar (not playing yet), Moochie (is good, but doesn't seem to do anything exceptionally well lately), Collier (shown he has some value), and Terrence (I wouldn't let him go AND Nachbar both).

I would favor a trade that had Kenny and Moochie, or Kenny and Moochie and Nachbar, or Kenny and Moochie and Terrence.

Gimme Shane Battier! That would be sweet. A guard lineup of Mobley, Francis, Battier, and Hawkins.... drool....

Damn 03... that post was so good I feel guilty of even thinking about Cat leaving the Rockets.

    I BELIEVE!!...

...but just in case we do trade Cat, here's to the thought of it being for a Crawford-type. :p

Again, in Cuttino's defense... he seems to me to be playing a completely different game than he played last year. Sure his shooting is down, and him getting into a set looks like poo compared to the rest of the team's flow... but these guys have had the run of the prison for a few years. As we wait this one out (and we will, since he's not going anywhere), I think Cuttino's contribution as a team player will only go up.

First of all people are complaining about Mobley's defense I'm not crazy about having a 6-3 SG, anyway Tinsley is passing the ball decently, 7.5 apg, but Tinsley is shooting 38.6% from the field! I know he's the PG, but even the PG has to shoot sometimes and there is no way I want to be going down the wire and having a PG shooting 38.6% from the field. I don't have a clue how Indiana is getting away with it but it's going to come back and bite them in the ass eventually. Tinsley is only scoring about 8 ppg right now. People might think that's great but it doesn't always work, Miller is passing the ball but can't shoot straight and it's killing the Clippers. Now look at Artest, yes playing defense, yet he's only passing the ball 3.2 times per game. 3.2 assist per game yet Mobley is getting rakes across the coals for averaging 3 assist per game. I just don't get it, Artest is playing great for Indiana, but Mobley is actually playing well for the Rockets. Mobley is only turning the ball over one more time then Artest, now granted Artest is shooting better from the field, but then again there are guys who are shooting 43 to 45 % from the field who are helping their team. I just think people need to relax and see where this team goes, it just seems like people hate Mobley so much that instead of being happy they look for the first reason to dump him. Francis plays well, dump Mobley. Ming plays well dump Mobley. Anybody takes a bad shot you don't hear, but god forbid Mobley had an off night or takes a bad shot the guy is ripped something fierce and people want him shipped out. I just don't understand, we have 3 big time scoring options for the future, and yes Mobley IS part of the future in Mobes, Griffin and Francis, we have a 4th one on the way in Ming. So now we're going to have a dominant center, an athletic all-world PF, a franchise PG and a dynamic SG who can score in bunches and take over a game. Yet instead of grooming that big time SF to make this team a juggernaut people want to send one half of the backcourt packing and possibly upset the other part of it just because Ming had a few good games and could be on his way to being a great center? When Les said he thought this was the best team he ever assembled I'm guessing he had Cat in mind or he would have said "This is the best team I have ever assembled except for Cuttino Mobley who I will cut tomorrow". I would say Les calling this team the best team he ever assembled is proof enough Mobley is part of the future since Mobley is a key part of the nucleus of this team. We have one of the elite backcourts in the NBA, one off night isn't going to change that.

Just a couple other words... I think Cuttino is still one of the best players on the team. We shouldn't want to trade him away. At the same time we have an abundance of serviceable players who really aren't going to break the player rotation (in a significant way). Just consolidate!... take several of the players who are getting sub 10 minute duty and convert them into one guy who is worthy of more minutes and can improve the team.

I'm all for FARTS. I don't think this violates the spirit of FARTS because it would be like trading the bench for a starter or sixth or seventh man.

I think its funny that this rumor??? would be talked about right now because I posted a thread about getting Artest before training camp, and most of the replies I got back was that we didn't need a trade. No... let the team gel together. Yeah.

    Mobley... expendable imo

KT... absolutely expendable imo. He's gone after this year anyway

    Moochie... GONE

That is what I would do if I was CD

I am worried about Cat and Francis both playing 40plus minutes every night. We do need a backup point guard. I like Moochie (and he played decent today), but we need someone that can push and distribute the ball quickly. I have no idea how good Crawford is, but if we can get him without giving up Cuttino then I'm all for it.

I am just sick and tired of people piling on Cuttino. The man plays with a passion that 99% of other NBA players would kill for. He has improved every single year he has been in the league. Today he was not shooting well and he realize that. Only haters saw the two crazy shots he took. I saw a guy trying to defend a guy on fire and play team defense. I saw a guy grab six rebounds and try to push the tempo. Stars (and Cuttino is a star at the least) are allowed to and will take a couple of wierd ass shot. Cuttino could be missing for 47 minutes, but teams will still respect his shot. Other teams know this guy is capable of going lights out at any second.

We probably dont win the last game against the Cavs without Cuttino. How come this thread was not started after that game? Oh I forgot, he was making those "crazy" shots. His shooting percentage was one of the tops last year for a shooting guard and should be still over 40% this year. That is not bad for a 2-guard. I think its right on par with Pierce, Finley and the likes.

Cuttino has been on our roster the longest and he loves this team and city. And call me freakin gay if you want, but I love Cat about as much as one guy can love another. I believe in him and prefer to see the positives instead of nit-picking when he has one bad game.

    GO CAT!

Man after reading all of the post in this thread, I tried to put myself in a position to think that Mobes really was going to be traded. This being said, I don't think I want him to go. I think all of the Rocket players are finding out that Yao Ming is exactly what they need. Now the team has to learn how to play with Ming being the second (sometimes first) option. We saw this tonight. They were going to Yao so often that both Steve and Cuttino looked lost. Them two are so used to being one and two, now they have this 7-6 guy from China that seems to know the game better than all of the current Rockets.

I really don't want to trade anyone except Moochie and Kenny. The rest of the team including Cat will grow and learn all together. It will take some growing pains but I think Cat will come around. Give him the season and go from there. As far as Moochie and Kenny, these two especially Moochie IMO will not be any different this year or any other for that matter. This team learned tonight that with time and willingness to grow together they can achieve their goals of playoffs and maybe more. Rudy needs to get a grip on his rotation and then we will see better use of Kenny and Cat's talents. The key lies in Rudy's rotation and time for the team to gel. Please no trades unless we really win out on the deal, which will more than likely not happen. Cat and Kenny can be affective, its all up to Rudy to mold the team and sit guys if needed. Look at Mo Cheeks in Portland. He has no problems sitting guys to drive home his points of what he wants out of them.

Put yourself in position to really believe that Cat was going to be traded tomorrow. Do you really want him out?
    :confused::( :confused:
