I don't know many men who actually care if they get something. Lots of guys are just nervous that they do "enough" for their significant others, but I think most guys are like me in that we recognize that it's a holiday for the ladies. Speaking for myself, my wife has never made a big deal of it. Usually it's dinner, movie, and/or flowers. On rare occasions we have gone on a trip or something, but it's usually only as time/money permits. This year, finances are a little tight (we already have a few vacations scheduled for the end of January, early March, and early April), so we'll keep it on the cheap. The way I see it, a man should show his lady a nice time on Valentine's Day...and his lady in turn should show her man a nice time on Valentine's night. That pretty much sums it up.
Bumped thread...so might as well bump obligatory "If February 14, then March 14." http://www.steakandbjday.com/
God, I hate this day. It's not that I hate it because I am married, I hate it because my wife always expect the world and when I think I have given that to her, it is still not enough. It is refreshing to hear that there are some women out there that really don't care about this holiday. Unfortunately, Mrs. Manny Ramirez hasn't drunk that kool-aid...yet. You ladies tell me where I can get it and I'll make sure to run out and buy some.
The March 14th thing is one of the many reasons I find Valentine's Day annoying. Yeah, sure, babe...do something "thoughtful" for me. Puh-leeze. Bribing is so disingenuous and patronizing. I care a lot about the motivations behind things, and you could buy me flowers, candy, the works...but if you expect me to give you a blowjob because of it, **** off.
