Sorry, I've been busy doing my schedsule at U of H, I haven't checked the website in like 3 days. It won't happen again.
I really like those numbers a lot. Imagine both T-mac and Yao gets around 25 PPG a night...now we coudls start talking about the best duel. We could only dream right?
two things yao has to do. 1. get 10 rebounds a game. if he doesn't i'm gonna start pulling out some hair. at 7'6 you should accidentally get 10 a game. considering yao actually has some coordination, not getting 10 would be terrible. 2. get 2.5 blocks a game. again, at 7'6 with much more coordination than any other 7'6 guy, this should be the minimum you accomplish. hell, manute bol wasn't much for coordination but he could do this. also, i don't care what his point are (well i do actually) but he has to start dominating the lesser beings of the nba. the adonal foyles, the najeras, the gadzurics. that should bring him up to 20 a game, especially since he should get a little more freedom with howard instead of cato. i'll predict 19.7, 10.1, and 2.31 bpg. he'll shoot 52.7% and 81.1% on ft's. *rvpals, i'll donate every dollar i have to charity if yao averages 5.9 assists next year (conservatively).
T-Mac averaging under 20 a game? Where will our offense come from? More like at least 25 a game from T-Mac and at least 20 a game from Yao.
Why are those stats low, especially on T-Mac? SO you don't think Yao will improve much? I could see them getting those number if we had 1 or 2 other great perimeter shooter but we don't and that T-mac and Yao is the 1st and 2nd option respectively in which I think T-mac PPG should be over around 22.
With the majority of touches being split 2 ways between Yao and McGrady, rather than 3 ways between Francis, Cat and Yao, there is no question Yao will get more opportunities to score and his assists will go up.
the most dominant season before the Dream MVP & Defensive player of the year season Pts 23.5 Reb 13 ast 4 blk 4.5 fg% 55.0 next year all star co MVP how SWEET it is
The thing with Yao is he can't get as many minutes as the other guys because he gets tired so early on and he always tips the ball instead of just grabbing and because of that he loses the ball to defenders easily, if he can just improve on that he should be getting around 11-12 rebounds a game
Yao: PPG: 20.2 RPG: 10.3 BPG: 2.2 FG%: .531 MIN: 34.9 TMAC: PPG: 22.5 RPG: 7.6 APG: 8.1 BPG: 2.0 SPG: 1.9 FG%: .502% MIN: 38.8
I don't think Yao is a bad rebounder at all. From all the games I watch, he seems he has the sense of timing and court sense to go after the ball, he also has the height and strength to do it. One of the reason he's not getting 10 last season, he's giving up his rebounds to his teammates. Lots of times I saw Rox play good team D, and Yao boxed out and basically when the opponent missed the shot, there's 3 Rox there, Yao just boxed out and let Francis or Cat or Taylor or Kato or JJ gets the easy board, he could have grab those rebounds. Instead Yao just does his part and then move down court and set a pick for Francis.
PPG 19.7 RPG 10.2 BPG 2.1 APG 4.5 Imagine Yao getting double teamed and passing out to Tmac for the 3...his assist numbers will go way up.
02-03: PPG-13.5, RPG-8.20, APG-1.7, FG%-.498, FT%-.811 03-04: PPG-17.5, RPG-9.0, APG-1.5, FG%-.522, FT%-.809 04-05: PPG-18.0, RPG-9.5, APG-1.5, FG%-.525, FT%-.805
From recent articles about Yao, it seems that Yao started losing his patiences on all those 'soft' talk. He's getting tired of the talks and started to play ruthless and say rude things! Expect a bigger change in his 3rd season. I'm still not sure about his rebounding. It seems that he thinks his assignments under the basket are always boxout and seal out the opponents. Then let his teammates snatch the rebounds. (I remeber he talked about it once on his bbs concerning his removed nails. Still, I think the thinking has something to do with his general mentality on rebounding).
