If he ends up in LA, LA will be even more lethal dependent on who they give up!! Then the hate for him will be off the charts on here, :D .

DraftExpress.com is reporting that the Houston Rockets are interested in moving star Tracy McGrady at some point this summer. McGrady is expected to miss the first 20-30 games of next season while recovering from two surgeries.

    Is there another one?

It would not suprise me if he is moved for some picks just saying.

I don't know about y'all, but i'm ready to move on without him.

Top 15 pick is where i put this team.

If they make the playoffs they simply overachieved.

In order to realize a situation, you must first be rational.

Hey you are the one extrapolating out that he would bring back a scrub, not me.

A lot of us realize that this season is already a wash, whether he comes back or not.

Not extrapolating - that's what has been offered for him:

Larry Hughes with Cuttino Mobley's expiring.

    or Curry and Darko?????

C'mon, what are you expecting to get? You yourself have diminished his value...why do you expect someone else to value him more?

No one knows what has been offered, or turned down, or discussed.

All we can do is talk about what the facts are:

    1. Tmac is expiring - if the Rockets let him expire they get nothing but about seven million in cap room which will be eaten up by Scola and others.

    2. If the Rockets do not trade him, management needs to walk around holding his hand, and kissing his butt so as not to piss him off so he doesn't walk and sign somewhere else and leave the team with nothing.

    3. Morey will trade anyone if it makes the team better, and other teams are financially strapped, Indiana is known to be close to bankruptcy. Tmac's expiring will have value.

    4. Yao and Tmac are both injury plagued star players, and one is known as a very hard worker who brings in tons of money......

I think the writing is on the wall.....

Hey, maybe the team does bring him back on the cheap, but I just don't see that happening.

The Iverson comparison is very apt in regards to Tracy.

There is one thing DD is forgetting. DM has been trying to move him despite his obvious denials, but he hasn't been able to,because his value is low right now.

Yes, true, his value as a player is low, but his value as an expiring contract remains unchanged.

I do think the Rockets are holding him back to limit his exposure before the trade deadline.

Otherwise, why not let him play? It is the last year of his contract.

We've heard this broken record for a year now.

First it was he needed to be traded during the summer.

    FACT: He was not traded

Then it's that management doesn't want him to play to do damage:

FACT: T-mac is scheduled to play in NOV

I think right now, it's a 50-50 call on whether t-mac will be a rocket next season. If he comes back, and plays well, and shows a full recovery - he will get an offer from the Rockets management.

If not, he will either be traded right before the deadline as Morey will wait to get as much as he can, or he will let T-mac walk.

He still needs to be traded, the only fact is they have not pulled the trigger.

Yes, just in time to showcase him a bit for the trade deadline but not expose him to too many games so he could get injured again.

I agree with that....I think the Rockets will trade him but would not be surprised if he falls in line, fixes his clubhouse issues with Yao and the team, and plays within the team frame, they might bring him back.

But, I also think they know he doesn't like the style they are now playing......and I believe that will rear it's ugly head......prima donnas usually stay that way.

Yes, you and I and several others have been consistently arguing it for about half a year.....we aren't going to agree.....just gonna have to wait and see.

He is not fit to play, everyone knows that. I think if he plays well consistently, the Rockets will probably look to trade him because they know he is injury prone(physically and mentally) and is getting older. They also know he can walk away and join another team. What I don't expect from DM is getting back mediocrity ala Dunleavy or Troy Murphy(a good player but not all that helpful).
Granger is highly unlikely. I mentioned the Pacers because you pointed out their financial difficulties. In the end,it will be Les' call. He has goofed up by taking long contracts which don't help much, along with a "name". I wouldn't be surprised if that were to happen again.

That's fine, but I just don't see us getting someone that would be a next positive for the team over T-mac. I think we're actually better off letting him walk then trading him for a long-term contract that really doesn't add a whole lot.

I think people think we'll make some kind of Pau Gasol magical trade and that's not going to happen.

So do you think he's just putting on a show when he answers the question at 10:22 in his media day interview?

    http://www.nba.com/video/channels/nba_tv/2009/10/13/mediaday_mcgrady.rockets/

He says he's looking forward to the new style of play and that he shouldn't have a problem adjusting because that's the way he played when he first nudged his way into the spotlight. But maybe he's just trying to spin himself as a player with confidence and a positive outlook.

I don't think so, though. I think the higher tempo does suit his style well because it induces a little controlled chaos on the court that he has the instincts to maneuver, but will leave the defense a little off balance. If he comes out at even 80% of his old self I think he will mesh well.

Or are you more talking about the fact that it's more team ball than a simple game plan of just handing it off to the star and letting him do his work?

Tracy already said this was his home and he likes it here. If he is not traded he could very well resign here for under 10 million, which is one of the "facts" you failed to mention.

Iverson to McGrady comparisons are appropriate, Tmac is a better basketball player than AI. The only thing AI has over Tracy at this point in thier careers is durability.

Billups transformed Nuggets the moment he set foot on the team. Iverson broke down the Pistons the moment he played for the team.
