classic hater logic at its finest.

So having harden and howard is not an improvement over jeremy lamb right?

Having harden and howard doesn't make us a contender huh?

So we should not retool and make the roster better then you come out with this gem-

so we shouldn't retool but we should retool huh? Makes perfect hater sense. hedge your bets right?

we got dwight howard in the summer.

more hater logic. wow. so I guess we shouldn't have gotten dwight huh? Or wait we should have.. or wait no.. I mean duuuuhhh. unreal.

so it would have been good but maybe not right?

no wonder you love cuban so much.. willing to sign expensive rentals. Im sure if you would have hedged your hater bets at the end of the offseason by complaining about signing dragic. nice work.

this is the most hater logic statement I have ever seen on this bbs.

so wait he is still young (a positive) but let's turn it into some kind of negative. nice job taking a positive and turning it into a negative. Dude is youn, not hurt but in your hater world 'you never know' and he is likely heading for injury. wow.

So again we should have never fleeced presti and kept lamb right? classic hater. Even something that has no basis for anything is somehow a slam on the team, morey etc and it's because we got harden? who will get injured or die eventutally. wow that's rich.

umm rose just hit the winning shot against the cavs. wow dude you are on fire.

and it was morey/alexanders fault that we were snake bit by injuries to both yao and mcgrady. Yep that's on them too.

your hate is strong and your logic and comments truly show you can't even argue yourself out of the hate to whether we should retool or not. somehow in your world ramon sessions is a get and harden and howard is endless retooling.

    just wow.

Let's not forget that we are only down 2-1 (last I checked it's not over right?), came back in game 2 after being down 13 in 2nd half, #2 seed, beat mavs, best record in long time, fleeced presti (the god to some), got howard, reloaded after yao and mcgrady..

and you are worried about freaking ramon sessions and the fact that harden might die one day?

    sad.

please stop posting. Please stop calling yourself any semblance of a rockets fan and admit you hate the rockets and are a simpleton troll that loves when they lose. to carry on your lame ass agenda of they should have but shouldnt have. so lame.

When rockets lose feel free to gloat and celebrate the hate.. in the meantime GTFO

What is even the point of Pablo Prigioni?

Dragic would not have resigned. Why would you take a guy who didn't want to be here and without knowing what we would have had to give up? Would DMO have been worth it at the time?

None of the guys you mentioned outside of that would have elevated this team from where they are at to contender level status. Brooks wouldn't have done it - maybe he would help but he's not going to be the solution either. Same for Sessions and Thomas even.

A group of guys have to figure out if they want that ring badly enough. That's not on the GM or even the coach. Rudy T once said that if he has to motivate his guys with a speech or anything else than he has the wrong guys.

I am not sure what adjustments we can make. Foul Jordan? How does that work for us when he's shooting better than Howard and Smith. If we hack a Jordan they will hack a Dwight and still have an advantage!

Morey needs to get shooters to help this team out. Teams in the playoff are letting everyone else open to try to stop Harden and it's working.

Hacking keeps the ball out of Harden's hand and stops him from making a big impact. His teammates aren't helping by not making shots.

His teammates aren't helping by hitting their open shots because they would rather stop Harden.

Harden true is having a hard time with turnovers once he's doubled, but he wouldn't have that much pressure on the perimeter if people were a bit scared of our "shooting" threats.

I hate to break to you but there is a formula for going far.

Consistency and you have to go through the draft.

Top teams that are still in the playoffs and doing well.

Key players have been drafted or kept for more than 3 years

    Bulls (Noah, Rose, Butler)
    Cavs (Irving, Lebron(hiatus with Miami))
    DC (Beal, Wall)
Atlanta (Horford) (They have been an exception)

    West
Memphis (Drafted by the Lakers, never played for them and he first signed with Memphis, Randolph been for years, )
    GSW (Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond....)
Clippers (mostly assembled but Blake was drafted, Paul been for several years)

Out but among the Best teams that have been eliminated
Spurs (Ginobili, Parker, Duncan, Leonard (Best documented team because of 5 championships)

    Future teams
    Nola (Davis)
Those players were mostly or entirely DRAFTED, then a good foundation of coaching staff were ESTABLISHED, a GOOD SYSTEM (Attack offense or MOTION OFFENSE, SOLID DEFENSE)

And then the logical step would be KEY TRADES but not as the first step.

    THERE IS A PATTERN

There are exceptions with assembled teams but most of the better teams in the 2nd round are teams with one superstar drafted or 2, 3 Key Players drafted.

The best way remains to go through the draft.

Even if you luck out to have traded for Harden (Rockets' case) You have to get 1 or 2 more Top 8 draft picks)

The Best way is to draft your cornerstone player because you would have them on junior contracts and they mature in your system.

Best sample: OKC (WB, Durant, Harden, (Ibaka)) They were just too small of a market to keep them.

I am adamant about this. I thought it was a lie but it gets proven every year.

Only someone who has a grudge against him would make such an asinine statement.

Most GMs would settle for being "good enough". Not Morey, he knew his team last year wasn't good enough to win a championship so he had the balls to trade away picks and role players for a shot at getting a true 3rd star (Bosh) and it didn't work out. And most likely, he'll rinse and repeat this upcoming offseason.

If that isn't going all out to get Harden/Howard a ring, I don't know what is.

A solid foundation of stars is better than just assembling players.....

Most of teams have their stars locked in for 4 or more years. They groomed their stars and role players were acquired.

This is the way to go for most teams in the NBA

Then of course you have to get a better coaching staff, and develop a better system for that team (other than just shooting threes and count on high efficiency shots)

Hakeem was Drafted... Harden was not drafted by this city so you do not really know if he is living and breathing for this city 100%.

Giving his everything every playoff game. McGrady was also not drafted.

    Yao Ming was drafted.

I can only assume that Harden is doing his best but with loyal players that is not even an issue.

I have no idea how you deduced the topic of loyalty from my statement.

But i never assume you make any logical statements

You know I am right. There is only one logic and that is making the Finals....

If you are a flawed team with a flawed leader you go home and come back next year if you have fixed the issues.

The topic was 'Not going to sort out scapegoats'- Logic is if you have enough success - you do not need scapegoats. Simple.

The point was if you have drafted leaders. They will have a better chance of succeeding and they will take it extra hard when they fail.

Those leaders are worth having for this city. In the playoffs.

Beating a 7th seed team, who was without Parsons, and who we beat in the regular season wouldn't make me feel great about McHale. We won that series on pure talent, despite playing basketball poorly at times; so IMO, we won in spite of McHale being the coach, not b/c he devised some great strategy for all of these "cast-offs and superstar underachievers" to follow.

Don't reply to my statement if you are going to start a new subject.

My response was to the op on what happened to the people he mentioned.

Every player on this roster is Morey's doing. The GM decides which players are acquired and the coach decides who plays. If you have a whole team of players that can't be motivated by the coach to give consistent effort and play hard then that's on Morey. Morey acquired the players and he hired the coach. It's Morey's team.

With respect to McHale... I don't think hacking Jordan when the Clippers are on a 23-0 run is a difficult adjustment, or doubling/hedging Blake Griffin when he's 11-14 with 26 points in a half, or not letting one of the worst point guards in the league drop 25 points on you.

Regarding hacking, it's not only a strategy to get possessions from the other team where they don't score, it's also a tool to stop/change momentum. You're taking the ball out of their best scorers' hands by hacking. You do it enough times and a hot player can become a cold player simply by virtue of not touching the ball. The success/failure of hacking isn't measured by how many free throws are made but rather by the score before and after.

Except they can just hack Smith or Howard right back, and turn it into a Smith vs. Jordan FT shooting contest and we've been losing with that because Jordan is shooting better than our guys.

Hack-a only works if the guy you are hacking is the worst ft shooter on the floor.
