Some Caller came on 610 as said he saw Artest last week in Houston. He was here playing at Fonde, and no one said that he was becoming a Rocket. This guy thewaterox made that up. I been listening to 610 for a while and that all I heard.

 

Fair enough, I apologize if I mislead any of you. Perhaps I should have put a ? behind the title of the thread. And glory seeking is not a past time of mine I'm a Rockets fan who was just as excited and mislead as any. Now that this thing has been beaten to death I will refrain from posting things I hear on 610 AM. Please pass the peace pipe and for the record I don't hear voices in my head involving trades for Artest

You posted your thread title in a definitive style and then retracted your statement by claiming that " they haven't gone into any details, but they did say that the word is Artest could be on his way to Houston." You then came back in this thread and provoke people by calling them crybabies. At a time when fans were dying for some news, you capitalized.

What I'm most surprised about this entire ordeal is your refusal to lay low after you've been outed. You are lucky the administrators are kind. For a stunt like this, I would have booted your ass (and your IP address) and had the thread in question enshrined on the front page for eternity to set as an example for anyone else who tries to pull the same crap.

Guys, I never post here - you can see the post count - but I was listening early on in the show from work and heard what this guy must have misconstrued (BADLY)

A called called in within the first hour of the show - the 2:00 hour - and said he saw Ron Artest leaving some store in the Houston area, and wondered to Rich and Mark if the Rockets were secretly working on getting him here. Both Rich and Mark shot it down as meaning nothing, and speculated he may have a house here, could be here on personal business, etc.

NO ONE except a random caller suggested anything was in the works.

 

Artest would instantly make us Championship contendors. But like you said, it's a pipe dream and there is little to zero chance we could trade for him. I think that's all that needs to be said.

 

As I suspected may have been the case. I may have been a little too harsh but I don't understand how hard it is to use a little bit of discretion when posting a potential trade rumor. Callers on the radio discuss hypothetical trade scenarios all the time and its really a big pet peeve of mine when some people can't figure out it's just that - hypothetical trade talk.

I know some clown will jump on me and say I am being too strict and discouraging others from posting potential news but the fact is that Clutchfans has been going strong since 1997 and hasn't once missed a news story and is usually the first place to break a scoop. Strict rules are what have kept this forum from degenerating into the wastelands known as ESPN message boards and have given it credibility.

Because of this, when someone clicks on a thread citing news of a possible transaction, they know it is fully legit.

Let's please try and keep it that way.
