Then we are in agreement

Last year after Ming went down, the Rockets trotted out as a center the likes of Brad Miller, Hill, Scola and Thabeet. I figure that DMo could hang with this group of misfit centers, which aint saying a whole lot.

    C: Marc Gasol (after all)/Thabeet
    PF: Josh Smith/Patterson/D-Mo
    SF: Morris/Budinger
    SG: Martin/Lee/T-Will
    PG: Lowry/Dragic/Flynn

    - Scola/Hill/Parson + pick(s) for Smith.
    - Sign Marc Gasol (franchise center).
    - Letting Hayes and Yao walk, in order to have more cap space.
    - Rotation of 13 players, possible sigining of (2) undrafted rookies.

I was just wondering is McHale more of a offensive or defensive coach?

    I'm not sure.

He's going to keep a lot of the Adelman offense and he's said that offense is an innate ability while defense can be learned (seeming to favor good offensive players), but he's also been insistent that he'll demand defensive accountability and he also makes no illusions that we can be a good defensive team without a big guy protecting the paint.

So far he talks a balanced game, but we'll see.

This is a good article from the Chron about his philosophy.
